The one thing I miss is my old farming days. Left and started up on the trucks. Never earned the money as a labourer, which is a shame. Greatest job there is, most satisfying job in the world, especially ploughing. Fendt boys we were. ;-)

George, love your videos !!! Grew up in Grantchester (just South of Cambridge) then moved to Alconbury Farm near Huntington. Love seeing the moves thru all the villages that me and Dad went thru. Cuz there wasn't the motorways and all kinds of roundabouts back then. Love to see you do a slow ride thru Sandy, Potton, St. Neots etc. anyway keep up the greats videos. Ex Pat in Florida

I've never did hedge cutting back in the U.K I didn't think It was a job for me. A guy I knew when i lived in Wales had a Bomford fitted with an old Fisher Humphreys 3ft or so saw head on an 1174 county for his fencing business. His motto was if we can drive over or push it down with the tractor we can cut it. one day they where clearing back and trimming a hedge row for fencing, he was inching up to an oak tree trunk while trimming the hedge top. His foot slipped on the clutch and he" nicked" the tree before he got stopped. He had to phone the land owner he replied "ah it's only a nick don't worry". The guy replied " it's a bit more serious than a small mark on the trunk " the trees done" the nick was over 1/2 way through a 2ft tree so they had to knock it right over !.

I hope you do another video, fascinating. The cab of the MF6160 doesn't look the most roomy, if big Steve has got your old tractor it is well trained. I DO hope you manage to get some video of Sam the nutter ferret doing his thing, rabbiting with the little dears is not common over here in west suffolk, it would bring back fond memories.

You should try a "Green Grape Hoe" sometime. Invented and made my a Mr. Green. It is used to clean under grape vine instead of useing an herbicide. A plate mounts on the underside of the tractor--we were using a MF 135. From the plate an arm extends out from the side of the tractor. An articulating joint connects to a second arm that is raised and lower hydraulically. It also moves in and out hydraulically. A blade--that looks like it was cut from a steel pie is mounted on a steel shaft on the end of the arm. Now the fun begins. Think a row of grapes and the posts that support them. The blade works like a plow. You extend it and start down the row. as you reach each grape or post you pull in and then extend it as soon as you pass the vine or post. The vines are six feet apart so you can imagine how much fun it is. Of course the MF 135 was all manual so I'd put in low range, low gear and crank it up 540 on the PTO. You didn't want to look away for a second or you'd be pulling our vines. It worked great and we cut our herbicide to almost nothing. After the plants I pulled out dried up I used a second blade that was the mirror image of the first and push the dirt back like they use to hill corn.

interesting video , how do linkage mounted cutters compare?? i used to do hedge trimming with a david brown 1490 and an axle mounted bomford and that used to rock all over the place , never driven a linkage mounted one but was told they are a lot more unstable but in that video all looks fairly stable to me , in my time working at a dealers i did see a ford 6810 cracked at the bellhousing after using one of those mid belly mount machines , never see those now .

Do these flail mower heads have a float setting to follow undulations or do you constantly have to adjust the height and angle? It'd get tiring trying to keep it constantly level with the ground.

Your vids are good but quality ducks way all the up down left right and it's constant put a mount on the front window for you and one in the side to show the hedge cutting would make the quality of your vids so much better for PEPOLE so please do something about it as other people must feel the same as uve passed comment in other vids about people getting sea sick with all the movement
