another wonderful soundscape bringing some much needed nature sounds into my house! Thank you! On another note, leeches...ewww 🥴...I don't know if I could psychologically deal with having them crawl up my legs. But I guess it is like with so many things in life...the good and bad things are very closely intertwined, you can't have one without the other...so it probably pays off in the end.

Yep, and as far as dangers go, leeches aren't that bad. After you've had a few bites you just get used to it. Mozzies can be much worse.

Admire your commitment George. It's true, it's more and more difficult to find sonically pristine place unless one goes deep in the jungle/woods/desert. Takes a lot of time, superb planning, good local guides, health, good chunk of money and luck. Really appriciate your effort

Good question! They are quite similar since they're both on the same side of the Wallace line. I've even found some Empress cicada soundalikes in Sumatra.
