University of Georgia won their second straight College Football National Championship last night with a 65-7 win over TCU Horned Frogs. The Bulldogs 38-7 halftime lead was the largest of any national championship since 2002. With the back-to-back titles, Georgia is the first school to repeat since Alabama did it in 2011-2012. SEC ball is just different. 6 different national champions since the BCS era. 4 teams that have won 2 or more national titles since 2006. Even if you take away Nick Saban's 7 national titles with Alabama and LSU, the SEC still has at least twice as many national titles than the other conferences.

It's different because academic standards aren't as high in SEC schools. Big 10 academic standards are MUCH higher. I bet a HUGE number of SEC players would not be able to cut it, academically, at a Big 10 school. And very few college athletes would be able to handle the academic rigor and discipline at Stanford, the Air Force Academy, or West Point.

Has no one else noticed the parallels to how Alabama won their back to back championships? When bama did it back in 2012, they barely scraped by Georgia in the SEC championship before demolishing Notre Dame in the national championship. In both cases, the real national championship happened before the actual event itself, much like the playoff game between Ohio State and Georgia this year. Both games came down to the wire and were incredible battles, and then the winners went on to blowout inferior competition in the actual championship game.

not really. it's hindsight. prior to conf. games, 1Georgia 2Michigan 3TCU 4USC 5Ohio USC & TCU both lose conf but if you look up all the talking heads, no one thought Ohio should jump past TCU, many said Ohio at 4 TCU lost by 3 in their conf. didn't make their conf. the committee has to base their decisions on what is known, not what they "think" will be based on conf champ games, one would assume TCU would play better than Ohio State. TCU best Michigan in a shoot out, Michigan destroyed Ohio state. where does logic lead you there? I knew TCU wasn't going to be able to hang against a team from the SEC whether it was Georgia, LSU, Alabama, ]Tennessee cause their competition was weak and lost their conference championship game against Kansas State who by the way got throttled by Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. That loss against KSU should've knocked them out the CFP top 4 which would allowed Alabama to slide in at #4 and Ohio State at #3. Hopefully the committee gets it right next year
