The first step is to set up your login info here: ecorp.sos.ga.gov/Account From there, you'll follow the steps to file online. The other option is to use a service. I looked up my business name on US Library of Congress in trademark & copyright 1st; I didn't pay for a name reservation while waiting on Sec of State; it was maybe 4 days before getting proof in mail. I got EIN immediately via email. You can set up DUNS number & build credit through Uline order something ask for net 30 and pay upon receipt of items shipped. Go GA Dept of Revenue if you need tax resale/wholesale license. ❤❤❤

In the US, profits from day trades are considered short-term and are taxed at ordinary income tax rates. It’s okay for a non-US person to trade U.S. securities. To day-trade requires opening an account with a U.S. broker. The broker will direct mail to the address associated with the account. To start an LLC in the US, you will need to use a registered agent service and you'll need a virtual business address or virtual office. Northwest Registered Agent will form your LLC for $29 (plus the state fee) and they will act as your registered agent for free for 1 year. After that, the cost is $125 per year. Northwest also offers virtual mail services for $29 per month. You can also use their business address for free. Hi there, thanks for the question. Almost every state requires that a registered agent address and a business address be listed when you register a business. The two can be the same as long as they meet the criteria for each. The registered agent's legal purpose is to receive service of process. Service of process is legal summons to a lawsuit. In a nutshell: if your business gets sued, a registered agent must be available during normal business hours M-F 9-5 to accept service of process at the registered agent address. Some people choose to be their own registered agent. And, they use the same address as the physical business address. The real question is whether you want that. Some business owners don't want to be served at their place of business, others prefer to keep both addresses as private as possible by hiring a service, and others just don't want to worry about missing service of process when they're out to lunch. Personally, if I were starting an LLC, I would take advantage of a free registered agent service offer that comes with LLC formation. Northwest stores docs, acts as your agent (and business address if you want to stay private from spam mail, etc), and forms your LLC for $29. And, they're a good company to work with. What if u have an LLC but u want that to be the holding company the create DBA companies under it. How is that done?

If there's more than one owner, the operating agreement would need special treatment. Taxes are paid under the holding LLC. Someone who was trying to sell me a service claimed that i have to do something within the first few months of registering, to change how i get taxed which is supposed to save me money. but they said if you dont establish this, you will automatically be taxed at a different rate. Was this person just trying to get me to pay for their service or is this a legitimate thing?

Thanks for the question. An LLC can be taxed in the default way as a "pass-through" entity or as an S corporation or C corporation. Most likely, the person you spoke to was letting you know that you have 3 months to elect the S corporation, should you so choose. It is possible that you could benefit from electing S corporation, but the person you spoke to wouldn't have known whether it was the right thing for your business. They were most likely just letting you know about the window for election. That said, are you doing your own accounting or are you using an accountant?

Hi there, thanks for your comment. I reviewed the statute, the online filing system, and the PDF Articles of Organization. In the case of the actual registration processes, it appears that the LLC designator is required to be added to the online "cell" and to the PDF. To confirm, I called the Georgia Secretary of State and spoke with a representative in business services. She confirmed that when applying online or by PDF by mail, the LLC name designator should be included in the same line or cell as the business name.
