Georgia specifically doesn't have a red flag law, and there is no national red flag law. What do you think they could have done? Law enforcement has to work within the confines of the law, and the state of Georgia says that it doesn't matter if somebody is a threat, you cannot remove guns from their homes until they have committed a crime.

Someone please tell us the precedent for the arrest of a parent in a similar “crime”. It is unlikely the father will receive a penalty more than “time served”. This is a knee jerk arrest based on media scrutiny.

I don’t know about that jail time. The Crumbly parents in Michigan got a few years in the penitentiary for manslaughter. A side notes…I hate the fcking media.

Officials also revealed that all nine people injured in the shooting are expected to recover. Two of those who were shot were teachers and the rest were students. Several of them still remain in the hospital. Authorities reminded students to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.

The woman across the street from the shooter saw the boy waiting for the bus the morning of the shooting. She had never seen him before. Also, witnesses in the school reported two shooters, three shooters, and even four shooters.

There are boys' and girls' gun clubs in the USA; I found a few local ones near me with a simple Google search. We even had a politician who posed for a family photos with his entire family (kids too) armed with guns. It's a mixed message here: "Give the guns to the kids to instill the next gen of firearm safety," but "Don't give the guns to kids!" Which is correct? Parents are told it's good, clean fun for a wholesome family activity.
