If the son is being tried as an adult, how can the father be held guilty for his adult son. Or can the court view the son as an adult in one case and a dependent child in another case ?
@rubenruiz2162

It doesn’t matter the age of his son, he provided him the firearm to commit the crime. He made it possible for his son to murder four people and injure another nine. Had he not provided the firearm, this would not have happened. So, in the eyes of the law, he’s guilty, just like his son, regardless of age is.

The problem is kids can just say and do whatever the fuck they want to online with very very limited adult supervision if any. You either take electronics completely or they have almost full access to social media and there’s nothing you can do about it, every kid has a cell phone now and more than half have social media so when your kid comes home begging for the same things as his friends most parents give in. Make it easier to limit child’s cell phones and internet and social media. Enforce it at schools too. No child under 18 should have social media period. I’m old as dirt, but we weren’t even allowed to have a calculator at school. Times have changed so much and I’m not sure for the better. Air conditioning is nice though. The idea of even shooting someone when we were that age was so foreign to us, except occasionally someone might get shot with a low powered BB gun, which we thought was a big deal. I’m rambling, but I can’t wrap my mind around all the stuff going on now. So glad my children didn’t have to contend with everything that’s happening now and they don’t have children so I don’t have grandchildren to worry about. I do really feel for everyone that is dealing with this, where their young ones are concerned. I know we all are at risk for a mass shooting at any public place, but when it’s your children it cuts deep.

First, I BELIEVE in the RIGHT to bear arms, but to answer your question, THIS case is totally different from your example given as the father KNEW his son had emotional problems and admitted he had numerous meetings with school officials as his son was continually bullied at school, this father & son had just been interviewed by law enforcement in May 2023 after the FBI received tips that the son had allegedly made online THREATS that he was going to shoot up a school last year, yet the father STILL went out and BOUGHT an ASSAULT RIFlLE and gifted it to his son in December, and THEN FAILED to keep their numerous guns and ammo LOCKED UP!! THIS FATHER IS 100% CULPABLE in the senseless DEATHS and injuries to those at that school!! It’s irresponsible gun owners like THIS father that fuel the fire of the Marxists in our government that want to take away EVERYONE’S guns!! Instead, we NEED to make SURE that irresponsible gun owners are held accountable and NOT take away the RIGHTS of the majority who ARE responsible gun owners!! I have NO sympathy for THIS father, or lack thereof!!

This guy is disingenuous. Regarding Red Flag Laws, how do you justify removing firearms from a home AFTER the FBI concludes their investigation and find nothing to move forward on? The father is the person most able & responsible and he failed to secure his child as well as his firearms. I'm fine with punishing people for their direct actions and/or inactions. Red Flag Laws, Storage Laws and efforts to blame firearms manufacturers and retailers is an attempt at incremental civilian disarmament.

We need a common sense federal gun law passed like we did in Michigan after the horrific shooting at Oxford High School. If you're a responsible gun owner, be responsible. Keep guns 🔫 locked up at ALL TIMES if you're not carrying it on you. American's 🇺🇸 are tired of toddlers, tweens, and teens dying preventable deaths along with stolen guns hitting the streets due to irresponsible gun owners not storing their weapons properly nor responsibly. Also, parents never assume you know everything about your children and that your children know better not to mess with guns without supervision. Children by nature are generally curious. That's how things like this happen, unfortunately. Please 🙏 lock your guns up parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties, cousins, grandpy's, and grammy's! Far too late after loved ❤ ones are gone. So many things have changed in our world 🌎, take action now and secure ALL of your weapons then pat yourself on the back for the gift you just gave humanity every time you choose to take a few extra seconds to be a responsible gun owner 👍😁.

The root of the problem is obvious and there are two types of postures or responses that are impeding a solution. Political Ideologues and Constitutional Absolutism. If we are thinking that Constitucional rights to possession-ownership of assault fire weaponry supersedes any possible consideration for resolution or the believe that the lack of gun control legislation for this type of weaponry are either allowing or able to stop these shootings at schools, we would be (and are) "deadly" wrong. Whenever our political leaders would be able to put aside their agendas, then and ONLY then we will be able to appraise the core AND solutions to this horrific problem. But as long as these barricades will continue to block our path to execute efficient action, then we can rest assure that America's schools will continue to be the grounds where hundreds of children's will continue to be killed. These impasse IS at the core of this problem AND which is worse, responsible for the killings of these children's right under our noses. Shame on us!!!

And you know what let's just keep going, we got to go ahead and get rid of any music that has any type of violent themes. Any kind really, rap, rock, country, everything in between. So we've got games,music,books, TV, radio all taken care of. Now, just teach your kid and raise them in a blank vacuum empty of anything else. Lets see how it work's out This also means not teaching your kid how to use guns of course, until they're at least 18 I'm sure that won't be an issue whatsoever for you will it

AR15 should be outlawed. Yes, the father should be held responsible. He foolishly gave his son that rifle.

@@gregb4417if they were outlawed….woulda been a handgun. AR outlaw woulda not helped. And father should be held responsible as well, that would be much better than red flag laws, cannot take rights before a crime has been committed IMO, very dangerous to start that. Imma parent of 6 year old twins, FBI comes to my door about my kids posts, i would be much more concerned, but he bought a non legal gun owner a gun? 🤔🧐🤨

Ridiculous statement..if the kid didn’t have access to the gun 4 people would still be alive. The gun owner is the responsible party. I’m ashamed of GA politicians pushing lies that Dems are trying to take their guns. Total bs and political posturing.
