I think the CFP made a mistake putting Ole Miss ahead of UGA last week. Hopefully that changes. I get that Ole Miss beat 'em pretty handily, but it's about the whole resume, not just one game. UGA's had the #1 schedule in the country by a long shot. Ole Miss is 29th. They both have the same record. UGA's FPI strength of record is #2, while Ole Miss's is #12. And it definitely checks out when you look through the schedule. fwiw...not a uga fan. just a rankings geek.

Greg still has his head someplace where the sun never shines on the subject of egregiously bad officiating. There were a number of bad calls against Tennessee on Saturday, which might well have influenced the final score. Crickets from Greg. South Carolina has looked like a playoff team in recent weeks, but the bad calls in their loss to LSU will haunt them for a long time and prevent them from reaching that goal. Aside from just being wrong in obvious ways, officials are never held to account publicly. Josh Heupel was literally biting his tongue at his postgame press conference since he was not even allowed to point out the bad officiating lest he be fined severely. College football is literally the greatest sport on the planet, and the powers that be are allowing a multi-billion-dollar product to be marginalized by a nickel and dime approach to officiating. Greg claims to love college football, but ignoring such an obvious problem seriously erodes his credibility.

Eh. That’s a big assumption. It is extremely hard to be undefeated in college no matter who you play. Who is he talking about? Oregon? They’ve played and beat multiple ranked opponents. Bad take. The good take is they are indeed under ranked and should be ahead of Alabama and Ole Miss and Norte Dame. He has a point about how hard their schedule is but that also applies to other SEC teams who have had easy schedules. But Sorry. Not IU. And before you say “HEAD TO HEAD” like a bobble head. Look at Tennesee. They WILL be ranked behind Alabama. Georgia is head and shoulders above all teams on strength of schedule. And they have the best wins in the entire country. And no bad losses. Their resume is far better than Ole Miss and Alabama. Ole Miss/Alabama. Only 1 good win each. Both teams have a bad loss. It’s not close.

The other failure as a sport is that you have all of these schools making $70 million per year. And yet you guys only have 1 or 2 marquee games per week. No one wants to play hard games. And then you penalize teams for losing a difficult game, if they do have to play it. And then turn around and reward Penn state, Texas, and ND for not playing anyone. And promote them bc they have large alumni and fan bases
