With Ewers, he’s at his best when he’s making quick, confident reads and no happy feet in the pocket. When he second guesses himself like he did a lot of in the Georgia game because of their disguising coverages or when he doesn’t set his feet and fire, bad things happen. I love it when he makes a pre-snap read and calls an audible when his receiver is in motion like he did on the touchdown pass to Moore in the Vandy game. Playing with confidence and trusting what he sees or expects to see based on film study because he’s seen a lot over his 3 years at Texas is key.

UGA has a talent issue… The highest rated offensive skill players we’ve signed that are still on the roster are: 2024: Nate Frazier (4 star); Jaden Redell (4 star; hasn’t played a down), Nitro Tuggle (4 star hasn’t played a down), Ryan Puglisi (4 star; hasn’t played a down), Dwight Phillips (4 star played 1 down); Sacovie White (3 star mop up duty); Chauncey Bowens (3 star hasn’t played); Colton Heinrich (3 star hasn’t played; Jaden Rashada (4 star transfer - hasn’t played); Ben Yurosek (4 star transfer - BUSTTTTT); Michael Jackson III (3 star transfer hasn’t played) Trevor Etienne (4 star transfer - Starter); London Humphreys (4 star transfer - back up can’t catch consistently… BUSTTTT) 2023: Lawson Luckie (4 star; starter), Anthony Evans (4 star injured, doesn’t play), Roderick Robinson (injured), Dom Lovett (4 star transfer - starter), Len’neth Whitehead (3 star transfer- doesn’t play) 2022: Oscar Delp (4 star - Bust; losing PT to Lawson Luckie), Gunnar Stockton (4 star hasn’t played), Branson Robinson (4 star - injured), Dillon Bell (3 star), Cole Speer (3 star - Special teams player doesn’t play on O), 2021: NO ONE 2020: Arian Smith (4 star BUST), Carson Beck (4 star - starter) In total: 0 5 stars 17 4 stars but 9 either haven’t played a down or are busts. 7 3 stars and one of them (Dillon bell) starts. The only starters that aren’t busts that are still on the roster are Carson Beck, Trevor Etienne, Nate Frazier, Lawson Luckie, and Dom Lovett. So you’re telling me you’ve hit on only 5 out of the 24 offensive players you’ve signed that are still on the roster… But you want to blame Bobo because we suck? BOBO DIDNT SIGN MOST OF THESE GUYS. The BYU penalty was legit. I'm neutral to both teams, so im calling unbiased. Now i do agree what seperates a good and bad official crew is the ability to call it correctly and to call it correctly consistently. By definition, he did grab the receiver as the receiver was running past and had a handful until dude was passed him. By rule, when the receiver goes from behind the defender to infront of the defender while jersey is held, its a defensive hold. But i agree that i saw it more than once on both teams throughout the game. And if you dont call it consistently throughout the game, you cant call it just because the moment is bigger. Even though the call was correct, his inability to call it earlier on either team, made it incorrect.

The Clemson love is Brand Bias and recruiting bias as well. Their Brand Bias comes from how good they were from 2014 to 2019. The recruiting bias comes from recruiting rankins over last 5 years. If you recruit in the top 10 regularly, you will be ranked higher at the beginning of the season and it will carry on throughout the season.
@j3tlag2Күн бұрын
The reason eye test is taken into consideration is because half of the schedule is made so far in advance that you can not tell who is going to be good and who is not. The other half of the schedule is made by their conference and the school itself doesn’t not have much say in who they play in their conference

College football should be 4 divisions of 64 teams divided into 4 conferences of 16 teams. Top 4 and Bottom 4 are promoted/relegated to the next division each year. 8 conference games. Tournament starts. Each quadrant is seeded with the same conference teams. Top seed has home field. The final 4 is the 4 conference champions played at neutral sites. This gives every team a chance. Rewards the best teams with top seeds. Produces a conference champion without a special conference championship game. Even if you’re a freshman on the 256th team in Division 4. You could conceivably play for the national championship in your senior year through promotion. No more human subjectivity and logo worship. Let’s do this right.

Love your insights. But think you’re missing it when analysing Alabama’s “newfound” running prowess and game plans. They passes disproportionately against Tennessee because Tennessee has a great front 7, particularly front 4, that can stop their run, including Milroe, and did. They ran against LSU because everyone can and does. I don’t think the game against LSU proved anything other than LSU is a pretender that should have lost to USC and South Carolina at least, and beating them does not erase all Alabama’s faults
@cman-of9ulКүн бұрын

Maybe true, but one thing that is certain about Alabama is they have committed to running the ball post TN. They have not committed to the run prior to the Mizzou game, and this has 100% made their entire team better because now both sides of the ball are attacking the opposing teams with a heightened level of physicality.
@mckinleycutler1366Күн бұрын
I get why Ute’s fans are pissed but I hate when people say the ref should have swallowed the whistle on an obvious foul. The refs should call every penalty they see. When you start adding exceptions to the rule it becomes a slippery slope. And no one wins or is happy.
@mckinleycutler1366Күн бұрын
Can you imagine if it became an unwritten rule or a written rule that refs should stop calling certain penalties in late game situations. The last 2-3 minutes of games would become a mess with players and coaches pushing that ruling to the limit to see what they could get away with go ahead a start throwing all the receivers to the ground at the start of the play if your the offense everyone on the lines starts holding. In spots teams and players have proven that if you give them an inch in a rule change they will take a mile to gain a competitive advantage look at the NBA when they changed rules around what is legal when guarding a player and players like harden start creating play styles to take advantage of that resulting in him taking like 17 feee throws a game at one point.

Greg, South Carolina is the one team Ole Miss wouldn't want to see in a playoff game. Offense is improved. Defense is even better. Dart wouldn't be able to run his mouth a second time around. You can take that check to the bank. Be thankful the SEC refs kept us out. At the end of the season we'll probably be able to safely say we could have beaten at a minimum 2-3 of the playoff teams, but poor discipline and bad officiating will keep us out. Oh all the replies will be SEC bias, but barely watch a game.

I find all this drama over college football this year frustrating and kinda infuriating by some of these professional football pundits. I knew Mr. McElroy was somewhat biased, but I also saw him as more pragmatic. I get it about the craziness in the SEC and all. Im sure ESPN is loving this because they hold the TV contracts of the SEC. And the fans are having fun with my team did this, yours did that thing. But when you start talking about who should make the 12 team playoff and use win-loss and strength of schedule, it seems to me no one wants to talk about the elephant in the room. The way i see it, there is not a level playing field between these four conferences until they fix a few things. Preseason rankings should not exist until after the first weekend, where a majority of games are in conferences. Some may disagree. Also, non conference game scheduling needs to change one way or the other. There needs to be more of an equal playing field as far as what effects wins and losses. I am not talking about making one conference stronger than another. That will all come out in gameplay. The cream always rises to the top. Here is what is actually going to happen in the next three weeks. The B1G and the Big 12 are going to beat up on each other within their conferences. Between all the teams in both conferences, only one team has a non conference game left. UCLA plays Fresno state on rivalry weekend for their third non conference game. This really makes win loss records look way worse. And harder to make bowl eligible. The SEC mostly and some in the ACC are going to play a bunch of non conference games. Now, for some strength of schedule will go down. But the upside their will be way more teams bowl eligible and more teams trying to get into the top 12. Moreso, from the SEC. SEC has a combined 11 more non conference games to play. ACC has 9 left. So, in summary, the SEC and the ACC won't be beating up on each other as bad. Making win loss construed.. That's my rant. And sorry for the text wall.

Unless Georgias defense creates (as with Texas) or they are playing an average or below defense they are in trouble. Game was on the road too. Ole Miss has several flaws. Not a great o line, no real running. Their defense is also not world class and have been scored on. ________ All 3 of LSUs losses this season were to mobile QBs who put yards and TDs on them. Add to matters the weather made it a less passing game and there you go. Alabamas defense is not national championship caliber of the past. They are very average. You get a defense that can contain Milroe or light up Alabamas defense and Alabama struggles. Shedeur Sanders will fall so hard in the NFL. Dude seriously needs to learn how to give up on plays and throw the ball away. Taking bad sacks like that simply won't cut it in the NFL.
