Fantastic review! Since you took one course per semester, what was the total tuition and other fees you paid over the 3 years? I know they add the tech fee and campus fee per semester, which makes it economical to take more than one course per semester. But for the sake of work-life balance I can only take one course per semester.

Thank you for leaving the comment :) my tuition total including fees for each semester were around $1100-$1200. Totaling around 13,000 for all courses taken.

There are definitely students with no work experiences get accepted. It’s really dependent on how your profile stands out.

@ may I ask a question about English exam did you pass one? Are there required English exam if you don’t have bachelors degree from the US? And did you take any knee prerequisites classes like Python algebra and calculus?

I joined the information session early this September and OMSA requires 2 parts of the essay: 1. share any career gap, weakness, or something unusual work experiences 2 describe your academic/professional motivation. I just got admitted to the program . I also applied to WGU and got accepted there too . I have a lot of questions and have seen a lot of mixed reviews on this program . WGU offers SQL but Georgia tech based on the reviews I have seen doesn’t . Is that true ? My background is neuroscience. So this is a career switch .I also am working full time and I need an online program . So that’s why I applied to this . I’m interested in computational data science track . When do we get to choose which track we want ? Once we are in the program or before applying ? How hard is it for someone who hasn’t done much programming ? How to prepare ? I got accepted in fall of 2025.

track is based on the courses you are taking, each track has different electives courses. The OMSA program offers many different tools and languages , SQL is part of it. Just by starting taking one course per semester to see if you can have it handled.

It’s the online program, OMSA: online master of science analytics. But it will not shown on the degree.

Thanks for your support. The practicum can be individual or group. However, the school sponsored projects are designed to be group work. You also can get the approval for working on your company sponsored project , which would be your individual work.

Hi, Thank you for watching :) I would say all courses are pretty useful, it covers a lot perspectives. I personally like Data and Visual Analytics (CSE 6242); Machine Learning for Trading (CS 7646) those two the most.

Make it simple but clearly stating how you are prepared for the program, any relevant projects? Why would you consider the school and the program? What are you expecting to get from the program? What can the school get from you?

you can find out on the official curriculum list. Courses can change from time to time. During my time this wasn’t required course , but definitely can be option course for credit towards graduation.

Yes, you will get the invitation for the ceremony, just like a regular graduates! I didn’t due to weather condition at my time.

You can search “gatech omsa career outlook” for some stats. Exams set to be taken in days window you can pick your own time with online camera proctor.

But I don’t have any statistics courses in my education background, I have a bachelor in Industrial engineering and MS from supply chain and logistics, I have a six sigma green belt certificate from university, can I ask if any chance I am able to get the admission? Hi, just got the time to respond. You may consult with the admission advisors for the better idea. I feel your qualification is good enough, just making sure you have some math and computer sciences courses taken or even a certificate would be helpful .

Hi, thanks for your share. It's really helpful. I am planning to apply for OMSA. Can I ask you questions? 1) how was your TOFEL score when you applied? My score is now 87 and goal is to get over 100 in order to get acccepted. 2) how competitive it was when you applied? I may need a recommendation letter, but I think I cannot ask the letter again and again to my seniors. 3) I'm in my late forties, do you think that it is still valuable for me to take this course? I am a product engineer now and I'd like to utilize what I will be learning.

1) I didn't take Tofel, that's for foreign students. 2) That's more like a admission question, I don't have any insights. Recommendation can be used cross schools as long as it was for the similar fields that your managers can only update the school name etc in their written letters. 3) That's the question you would need to ask yourself~ My answer is learning is always important in any stage of our life, no matter where we learned. Most likely to be group project, and it’s a semester long big project if you choose the option of School sponsored ones. You can do individual project if you’d like to work for your own company sponsored one.
