Back then, in '87, this man was one of the leading club/house artists on the radio mixes on MAJIC108 FM - STL during the club music segment from 10pm-12am on Fridays and Saturdays. I almost forgot the good vibes he brought to us as we were getting dressed to hit the clubs and parties.

Been looking for this jam for about 2 years I recorded his appearance on believe it or not on Soul Train. He had 2 Body Guards on each side of the stage, White Tee,Jeans, wild hair, and he also had 2 maniquins on the stage to which he ran up to in his frenzy of dance and pulled the wig off... something to see I tell ya, afterward he was escorted off by the bodyguards... Similar to Prince back in the day, I guess Prince was the prototype for the Georgio's of that time. Good Post Peace!

Yeah he was. I dj'd at Cilly's in Hawaii and have a signed album of his when he came to our club and the both of us played some slammin music for about an hour.....and then he sang two songs later then left for the Maharahja, and new swank club that had just gotten a top 100 billing for the planet as one of the best clubs around.......kinda cool as I remember it....

I must say that Georgio's "Sexappeal" has the similar beat to that of the Minnisota sound, The Time, Prince, etc. Love it, this was a Great jam with a good beat and to some of the previous comments true to that it is a weak Prince sounding cut. Regardless still this gets you boppin' to beat. Peace to ya !

Prince is rated one of the most gifted guitarists of all time..Listen to his music, the vast catalog.. this man is respected by the greats of music. The musical genius has left this world.
@Oneness100 Жыл бұрын
for pop related music, sure. But for other styles of music, there are others that are considered the most gifted. And BTW, some of them Prince respects greatly, but it's more instrumental/jazz oriented music rather than pop music.

Such a feel-good song! Have this many times over...various mixes and such...we performed this as a stage segment (we used to own a local bar...no cabaret license at the time...got one later). We were havin fun and didn't give a rat's ass about anything at all that night. I tended bar, DJ'd, got roped into the corral. Went around messin with people's hair and stuff. Full of energy, this. And loads of fun to play at a party! Thx for posting this.....means I didn't have to go lookin for it!

@@MrJuly1990ish I am the son of a musician from the 60s, and have relatives who played in the studio and bands with everyone from the Jacksons, to Sinatra, to Stevie, and 1000s more. Everyone takes some from someone. I am a huge Prince fan, and even visited the museum in Chanhaussen, MN in 2018. Prince put his own spin on music, but when you heard Prince, you could hear the influence of Sly, James, Pfunk, and Miles, amongst others. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Freshest sound in 1986....y'all might think this is gay, but compared to the endless looping of Phil Collins and Chaka Kahn ( I feel for you- the bad stuff) on the radio. This was awesome. However, 'Tina Cherry' was to close to ' Neenah Cherry, and Prince sported a 'Buffalo stance' , and you may have heard the 'Rumors' , that 'Nothing compared to him(2u)', and he paid him to stop making fresh sounds like this.
