I am selling my large home this spring to downsize. I plan to build. THIS WILL BE THE HOME I BUILD. It is everything I want in my next home, and as a huge fan of Buckminster and his “Bucky Ball” concept, I’m IN! This will be happening in Ohio, so PLEASE give me more info on availability, etc…I couldn’t be more excited for this!!!!

Hi, Please note that Geoship is currently in the early stages of product and technology development. That means we are not yet selling dome homes. We aim to start limited production in 2025. More info at geoship.is and republic.com/geoship

We love the concept of the communities of Geoships working and living together. We need to raise and change the consciousness of everyone, this is a great start. People only know what they know, we need to teach that there are alternatives that are sustainable and wonderful. Great work.

Guys move to El Salvador, they want to build a city of the future. You get less red tape than in California. U can get Bitcoin guys to help you out. There is a reverse migration in El Salvador, people with bit coin looking for a new home in El Salvador. BUCKY was the grandfather of the future. He's proud of what u can do with the design. Dont let an opportunity like this with delay and red tapes from government.

Seems they open to working with investors if a Bitcoin person just works with them to build a prototype village there it would be great proof of concept.

At 1:35, what heating/cooling climate and service life do you use for each home in your calculations? It seems incredible that the "embodied" (building it?) and "recurring" (maintaining it?) CO2 emissions are enough higher in Passive Houses to completely outweigh the emissions from decades of operational expenses.

As someone who grew up in an arid region, my question is around rain water harvesting. It certainly would detract from the beautiful design,(!!) but is rain water harvesting a feasible proposition on a geodesic dome?
@Geoship Жыл бұрын
Yes, rainwater is harvested through an underground drain that goes around the dome.

After wading through all the adverts you will see that it is 9000 coins to get started - maybe. But no details - they just want lots of money first. Mugs who have nothing better to do with capital which is lying around, unused and redundant. At least it is better than investing in the weapons industry - usa being the most productive in this area of human development.

It looks wonderful, but I'd like to see videos giving us an idea of what the layout would look like. Where is the bathroom located?
@Geoship Жыл бұрын
A geodesic family home will often be 2-3 domes connected together. The bathroom would either be in a small dome (plenty of room for a big shower, sauna, and tub) or under the loft in a big dome. There are some layouts on our website. More coming very soon.

Hi there, utilities mostly work similarly to traditional homes, and can either be routed through the walls or subfloor. Some of the windows will be operational. There will be a venting system with vents at the bottom and the top. More details will be shared as we progress our product and technology development.

Isn’t living “outside the box” the very cause of urban sprawling? If you can’t stack them up, it really isn’t all that sustainable unless world population drops by 75% or something. Land use and the building of roads are a much bigger issue than having so-called “healthy” stand-alone buildings. At this point, you’d need a prototype for the sustainability of an entire community, not just single homes.

It is tough to explain specifics in a way that people can easily learn and know rather than sticking with conventional ways that cost so much to build and maintain, demanding frequent renovations and rebuilds, continual waste of time, energy and materials. Hence the housing shortage since conventional builds are completely unable to keep up. The key piece is that obsoletion is built in not long lasting homes- meaning rebuilds anywhere from 20 to 50 years. And that’s just the structure not the insulation or other environmental comforts for all buildings not just homes. Add into the conventional equation the dire need for construction workers. That great resignation is not just biting the Man but also anyone of us who needs what workers provide for way too little compensation for their valuable contribution and loss in their quality of life. The conventional waynis not working well for anyone.

Americans are raised on obsolescence. It is part of their life and expect it. No other nation on earth has produced as much waste as usa. No one anywhere wastes as much as your average uninformed ignorant arrogant American. Why build huts made of wood? No one anywhere on the planet does this except in the jungles of Africa - but in 'advanced' usa most people live in a wooden hut! We find this difficult to believe in Europe where we build houses to remain in place for at least a hundred years - or longer than usa has existed. My house was on the map of 1790 and has withstood floods hurricanes and I have never seen anything in the land of wooden huts that would be worth preserving for longer than a season or two. You build trash and you take the trash away. Bricks. Ever heard of that technology - ? It's been around for thousands of years, put one brick on top of another, some cement in between - and it remains for at least the time of ten or twenty presidents. But you just don't grasp the fact. It's hard for educated people to understand why all the losers all gathered in one place and then worked out that they were the bestest. The awesomest, the intelligentest and specialest. Build that wall and seal yourselves in - I would prefer to hear NOTHING more from that wasteland as it only frustrates. 2023 01 17 12:39
