u need your royal bed. when full health, it is very hard to die to waves

I'm playing on easy settings. I think I would be ok on hardest settings now that I know how things work. Allowing enemies to have a clear path into your base with traps does most of the work. Building up a decent army is also helpful.

When placing the geothermal plant there was something at the top of the screen that said you could change shape with Q and R - might be something to look into bc it may allow it to become more efficient

I found that 8% civil tax on everyone over 200 wealth and an income tax of 10% work really nicely to balance savings and ratizens. Also, I'd add an extra tax collector or 2 to take some workload from the others. I've noticed an influx of money and then a hemorrhage. I think it's due to an overdue tax being collected.

I've been busy and finally catching up a little, but please use "Transmission Blocks" to pass wire through terrain instead of leaving a hole. *Edit* If I watched 5 more seconds you did just that.

Shame you can't use the magmice for something. Befriend them and have them boost the generator or something like that.
