I’m calling it now. G is warming up his sprint. He’ll then show up at the Tour and act as a surprise set-up for Cav to get his 35th stage. Nothing can convince me otherwise.

He is frustrating for me as an Ineos fan/sympathiser. Very strong rider, very talented, but never seems to win!

Bro, imagine getting a monster leadout from two TdF winners and getting frickin seventh. I would be so ashamed lol

They weren't anywhere near sprinting when G pulled over. You can't (generally) have a GC guy, alone, do an effective lead-out. They needed a sprinter to take over from G, and have Hayter follow him.

I know he’s only 25 but at what point do we accept that Hayter just isn’t going to make that leap to the next level.

@@MikeAG333 yes but this happens all the time to the top sprinters, their leadout ends too early and they have to quickly find the right wheel to follow, but the key difference is the fact that he's not a sprinter and clearly just doesn't have the power, even if he had a perfect leadout it's pretty clear he would've been overtaken by multiple riders before the line.

Axel Laurence was pointing to Paret-Peintre saying "Il veut pas travailler, il veut pas bosser" meaning "He doesn't want to work, he does't want to hustle". That may be because Ag2r were not helping to pull in the front.

Great work by the young Dutch kid.... He's not that well known yet by a lot of cycling fans, despite his 23 top ten results last season, and again four top ten results in his first five race days of this season (Mostly in smaller races.). If he keeps on improving the way he did the last few seasons, he is certainly gonna win a lot more races.

I think it was just an effort session for G. Hayter did not contest the sprint. Shame. I don't know what to make of this guy. Sometimes I think that the changes in Grenadiers are making things difficult for the talented guys to thrive. I hope I'm mistaken.

I like Marijn van den Berg. He is never going to be the fastest sprinter, but he is a cunning racer and a fearless bike-handler. Every race he wins, for the rest of his career, will be a triumph of skill over talent.

Pretty sure it's not a problem on LR's side. I actually doubt LR has the TV rights / organizer's OK to be able to use footage from those races. If you go on his channel, he made a video about why he can show some races while he can't do others.

why are there almost pure flat stages in stage races anyway. Just do a 3km stage for the sprinters to ride and then get on with the real racing in the mountains or hills.

Hayter could have opened up a gap on purpose on GT and make someone else come around and jump on those wheels and use that for the final lead out.
@urbanjungle9600

You are making the assumption that Hayter understands tactics and positioning …… which he doesn’t! His positioning in bunch sprints is horrendous usually and when in a good position is more often than not through luck than judgement He is a fabulous talented engine but tactically inept.

Why do the finishing leader board show the riders country and not the team logo? I know all the riders who are Canadian ya don't have to show me my flag, I don't know the riders teams I want to know what the teams did. Aren't thew team sponsors paying for exposure? Isn't a logo a better sell than a three letter abbreviation? Like where did that unknown Ineos guy finish that G did such a long lead out for? I don't know his name I have no clue what country he was born in I know what team he was on though.

EF's kit is about to go all the way to dead last if they are going to win with nothing but aero skinsuit complete with long sleeves and aero gloves. Yuck, that isn't a good look if you are telling people that you need to that dipped out in aero to win, the helmet was alright but adding long sleeves PLUS gloves to the mix is the turn off point for me.
