Hi Gerald. The comparison at 800 looked blocky. What zoom level was that? Also you showed 800 but not 640. I assume they are both great there? I only shoot native ISO’s on A7Siii. I think we’re now spoiled into pixel peep mode. Between the Panasonic S and the Sony A where do we go from here? Maybe just out to shoot ;) Thanks

That 'close shutter when changing lenses' feature is a must for the a7s which is primarily a video camera. Shooting stills you can fix a dirty sensor in post - much harder with video - come on Sony it's just a bit of code!

You are the only KZbinr that I feel is criminally underrated. There are others that definitely deserve more followers, but you do what you do so well and it is effectively matched by no one else. There are no gimmicks or annoying clickbait titles where the creator does talk about the subject, but also talks to you and randomly hangs out with others talking about unrelated items for like 6 minutes for no reason. Thank you for the quality, and I hope you build to the following you deserve.

I was looking pretty seriously at FX6, but now I'm not sure. The A1 seems to be better at several things.
@loudandclearmedia3 жыл бұрын
@Alex Regiani Totally agree about client perception, but lets be real, the FX6 is a tiny camera and worse yet (for perception) it looks like a 1980's camcorder. I have a RED Dragon-X as my client facing camera when needed, but am most invested in the Sony system as I shoot all of my stills and most of my video on Sony bodies. FWIW I don't think the client perception between FX6 and A1 would be any different. Now, If we're talking about a DSMC2 body RED vs an A1 there's a pretty big difference in perception and of course I'd rather have the RED visible to clients. FX6 interests me mainly because of it's variable ND.

The A7S3 is excellent, I absolutely love mine. 10 bit makes all the difference and its a beast in low light. Huge step up from my A73, highly recommend it. I'd personally get the A7S3 and $3k worth of accessories over the A1 (unless you shoot tons of photos). @finnillson48083 жыл бұрын
Well, after the tests for the 4K against the A7SIII and the ISO performance I would say the price tag is justified. I'm an R5 owner and the Alpha 1 is an amazingly spec'd camera.The two approaches Sony and Canon have taken is interesting. Sony is taking the "give the people what they want...for a price" approach that then eventually is allowed to trickle down to other cameras as time goes on. This is the superior approach, imho, then Canons odd curveball "feature-wack-a-mole" they do with their camera models. That being said, we are spoiled for choice these days and I love using my R5 and thats all that really a camera needs to do: inspire the owner to go out and shoot.

Your test identified that much of the heat generated within the camera while shooting 8K was from the battery itself. This makes sense as we have all experienced how hot our batteries can get while discharging. The dummy battery solution with an external battery then removes that heat source from within the camera preventing overheating. Seems like a very simple solution.
