I came here after sitting in nature this morning and then trying to find validation for the thoughts i was having. After googling this and that i happened on this video and it echoes with my experience through and through. Still dissatisfied, I wanted to forward it to anyone I thought might say, Yes, yes, yes. Unable to think of anyone who might even want to listen, I decided to thank you, whomever you are, for being here and for understanding. I am in humble tears of gratitude.

I memorized the poem "Nondum" and recited it at my school at the poetry recital and won 1st place with it. I teared up for the first time when saying it--first and only time I cried in public since I was very little. I would say the poem again and again throughout the years: when I was in college and was depressed, when I was in the military in training, when I was deployed and felt alone... this poem was my reminder that we DO indeed feel we are without God sometimes. But I read somewhere to "never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light." Nondum describes the torture and fear of not having God, but there is a sweet ending--I know God will receive me, and I will wait for that day with hope. If Job got through his trials, we can too.

Bravo, BRAVO! Thank you so much for this heartfelt and insightful plunge into the wondrous world of one of my heroes. What a clear attempt at delineating INSCAPE,...I can't seem to find the name of the individual giving the lecture, but my thanks for his crystal-clear passion and love for Hopkins....I'm on top of the world

I think the fact he mentions the foot being shod is also a reference to Moses and the burning bush. He went barefoot because he was in contact with holy ground and in the presence of God. All of that being lost now.
