Rare Talksports session with great substance, ie. no rumors, no outrageous comments, no clickbait quotes - pure football. It's great hearing from Pique.

I think Pique was there to talk about his pet project(King's League). The rest where just hooks for us. Could be wrong but it just felt that way. Doesn't feel genuinely out of the interest of football.

4:30 this is why barca la masia has the advantage over other academy.. it’s the same structure and style so players like cubarsi and lamine already knows where the players are occupying space positionally and what they need to do in certain situations instantly Man city has been doing the same(copying) Difference is we focus on strengthening the first team.. we are not a selling team whereas man city focuses providing cover for first team and also selling them as its counted as pure profit for ffp reasons Basically they don’t generate enough money from other resources so they kinda have to do it when opportunity arises

Abeg o. Football for 90mins is perfectly okay! Nothing wrong with getting distracted with other things, but please don’t change anything about the time. Maybe those extra time rules and all… but the 90mins is fine.

This may seem a silly question, but is Gerard Pique any relation to Nelson Pique the F1 driver. ??

Wow finally someone who has actually noticed football dying now. It’s the beginning of the end. Living off an old generation. Kids only watch football now because their dads ‘watched’ it, and actually played as a kid. Now kids don’t play at all. Their dads no longer watch it due to the cost. Kids don’t watch it at all. Why should they????

@@abody499Piqué has nothing to do with that. He was just a facilitator, making connections between the Saudis and the Spanish Federation. He got paid for his efforts, but whatever shenanigans they're investigating now happened between Rubiales and the Saudis. There's a warrant for Rubiales' arrest, but he's hiding in the Dominican Republic.

Yeh and the point is….. The next generation NEED TO LEARN & PRACTICE how to concentrate & focus. Not just adapt sport & everything else to the addictive and toxic format of social media which is literally killing the next generation and ruining what we see on a football pitch, tennis court, boxing ring etc. If you can’t sit down and focus on a football match for 90mins then YOU HAVE A PROBLEM and that should be addressed.

Every single player from the nineties would absolutely be able to play today, it’s their commitment and dedication that made them professional so they would have been trained to play the new style
@hiddensword9387

That wasn't his point though. He means, the way they played then wouldn't work today. As the way they may have played in previous decades wouldn't have worked in the 90's. Also, the players are immensely dedicated today, very professional, fit and don't go as crazy on the partying as they did in the past. Pique also made the point that most players would have to start from a young age to develop the dominant style of today, it would be rare for a player to come in later in age and pick it up.

@@hiddensword9387You are a millennial i guess. You have not watched real footballers. There was a time were you couldnt chose whose the best midfielder or defender in the world. Football dedication is almost zero. These days players dont play for the badge but for money. Most players do more social media influencing than football. If i were to ask you now whose the best midfielder now. You will straight away say debrune.

As a united fan Sir Alex was very overrated. He left our team in shambles. didn't leave any good players behind all old players. Pep is amazing i wish he had chosen united. Pep is the best ever in the pre era.

To say you are a true United fan would be overrated. You are entitled to your fickle opinion but to disrespect Alex Ferguson like that just because you are bitter about the collapse of the team that followed is just so ignorant and childish... Huge respect as a coach to Pep, but you like him more and rate him over our manger? Sheesh you are a disgrace. And I'm not blind fan, I see and respect the greatness of both Pep and Sir Alex. One is the Greatest manager in Prem history and the other is just a Coach who will become one of the greats.

The main reason Pep didn't manage United is because they weren't "Ready Made Enough" like his 2013 Champions League winners Bayern Munich were. Just for the record, Pep Failed at Bayern, most managers would have succeeded at that amazing Barcelona team he had. Fergie worked miracles at Aberdeen and what have United won since Sir Alex resigned despite over £1.5 Billion spent on players under 5 different managers within the past 10 years. It's not like many managers could have replicated Fergie's success at United over a 26 and a half year period.
