Besides Liu Kang, Geras is one character who I mostly focus on in the interaction with others. Having knowledge of past versions of the cast (with some even questioning him on what they were once like), it gives off lore vibes to focus on.

I love hearing him talk about the og timeline. admittedly I was very scared of the idea, of multiple timelines. Never was a “multiverse” kinda person, and only really liked one timeline. Though I think NRS is doing pretty well so far, NRSs continuity has always been a issue. And seeing them admit certain things sucked (cough, cough…evil sindel….) is fresh, I’m excited for liu kings timeline. Even though I’ll miss the old one, most of the characters are happy which is a plus.

@@lovekeego yeah mk 1 is really the best entry point for new people to the franchise. As it’s not only a restart, but it’s gameplay is more modern for what’s new in fighting games today. You’ll understand the lore eventually! It just takes time since so much stuff either doesn’t make sense, or it was retconed at some point. Just know there 3 timelines (technically) the first timeline (mk 1992 to mk Armageddon) and the second timeline (mk 2011 to mk11) which it’s Timeline is controversial. Since it’s technically a restart of the mk 1992 timeline. Raiden pretty much sends a message to his younger self. So he won’t cause Armageddon. And then mk1 a new timeline made by liu kang. It’s separate to the others, just know the liu kang in mk1 is the same liu kang, from mk 2011. It’s really that simple. Now the full in depth lore is a little wacky. But you’ll get there and understand it eventually. Just have fun for now, these games are meant to be fun so don’t overthink it!

Liu Kang's attempt to reform Shang Tsung really was just "If you want to be a powerful sorcerer then actually work for it" only for Liu and Gears to discover, Shang Tsung only wants the easy way to power. Hard work and humility be damned. Only for us to then see a Heroic version Shang Tsung that most likely did undergo reform. So its not really Shang Tsung thats the problems its the ease/convenience at how he gains his power thats the problem

I actually don't really like how characters, who have genuine questions about their new lives compared to their previous one (like Baraka being afflicted with Tarkat), are just met with the same "There are things we can't change" answer.
