Most characters in Mortal Kombat have a really traumatic past thanks to the nature of the world they live in. Hence, a lot have suffered the pain of losing family and friends and in this video, I have assembled those instances where characters open up to their traumatic past.

When the Hourglass entails overseeing the exact life and time of individuals, how often had Liu Kang been forced to acknowledge that for a path to be taken, another had to end? If Smoke hadn't lost his mother, he wouldn't have been adopted by the Lin Kuei, which meant further down the road Scorpion wouldn't have the most steadfast ally by his side and may well have met an untimely fate himself. So a personal tragedy had to be allowed so a larger tragedy could be averted. No wonder Liu Kang was so keen to give up his Titan status. Making that choice across hundreds of realms and billions of lives without end? Brutal.

Geras: Then your father would have made him far worse than you are now. Ashrah: You're the not only one who had a sibling that suffered, Christopher. Peacemaker: But you saved yours, I didn't. Outworld offspring who mutated because they had demon ancestry in them, but were unable to control it. Sindel must have been able to control it, but Mileena didn't, hence how she got contaminated.
