Герда и Месси наконец познакомились! Первая встреча.

Мы все долго этого ждали, но старались сделать первую встречу максимально аккуратно. Кажется у нас получилось.

These two aren't going to be friends and play together. Just won't happen. Gerda and Messi are both aware of the barrier that separated them. As well as, Gerda attacked Messi everytime Messi turn his back on her. Which is how a cheetah would attack to defend it's home or off-spring. Tigers are similar in this approach too. I think too many of you have this wishful thinking that Gerda and Messi can be together with no barrier to separate them. Only way that is going to happen is both were very young and raised together. Which isn't the situation here. These are two very different large cat species. My wife viewed both video's and this is what she told me. She is an actual expert....she's a DVM and Animal Behaviorist. Who's study this sort of thing all her life.

I give Gerda tons of credit; she's not one bit intimidated or scared by Messi's antics. All she wants is to play and get acquainted. Strong gal. I like her a bunch already.

It's really interesting to see them interact. She does the cheetah thing by waiting for him to turn his back on her, and then she jumps him, and Messi finds a concealed place to wait, and he jumps her when she's closest, no matter which side she's facing. That's predator behavior right there, chase vs ambush. It's also how they play, but it's hard to tell when they're also hissing at each other. Because of that, I really don't know how much of her behavior was playing, it seemed pretty primal to me, from both cats. Even Messi who's usually really calm and tame, he was not happy about her, I don't think he was playing either. Both of them were at least guarded/defensive. I think it'll take a long time before they get used to each other. Thankfully Sasha and Masha know what they are doing, so everyone will be ok.

Очень важно то, как подготовили ребята своих питомцев. Герда привыкла к Саше с Машей, почувствовала их заботу,проявила своё доверие к ним, обжилась на новой территории, стала увереннее. И Месси уже наблюдал издалека за появлением нового обитателя вольера. Остаётся надеяться, что все границы будут со временем стёрты). Было бы приятно видеть этих двух кошек подружившимися.

FearsomeChicken this was a great first step. I was surprised to see Messi actually do the confrontational cougar pose, but he only hissed, didn't do the lion roar like the sound byte In all of the opening credits. To me, seeing a lack of hair standing on ridges of their back and tail, along with no growling from either makes this a better scenario than pretty much any house cats I've had over the past 30 years. They will be just fine, and we will laugh about this in short order.

Когда у меня появилась вторая кошка , были идеалистические мечты , что вот они сейчас упадут друг другу в объятья и будут любить друг друга как сестры. А они как начали шипеть .И шипели ровно неделю не останавливаясь не днём не ночью. Я это к тому , что на дружбу , а тем более на любовь нужно время . Отшипят своё и подгружаться.

That was fabulous. Masha was very brave being in with Gerda while Messi riled her up. Shows just what a beautiful nature Gerda has as the aggression can transfer to the nearest being. EXAMPLE... Me getting between 2 normal size angry cats and coming away ripped to shreds. Gerda showed not one smidge of negative emotion to Masha, just non-stop purrs and kisses. Gerda is too too precious. Messi the Magnificent looked spectacular using his WILD PUMA face.

And then she eventually shows Messi her passive, come hither, stance which he eventually recognizes that she's friendly. No need to attack nor defend. Although, both are naturally still cautious at this point, especially Messi who is very much a big scaredy cat. I can't wait until they finally become good friends.

@@astridgalactic9336 Poor Messi, I think he is very much NOT an alpha male type kitty. (Especially since he is afraid of the weird, little, naked Sphinx cat. Kira, is it?) The introduction of Gerda and Messi was a lot of posturing, but they seemed to settle down a bit, thankfully. In fact, Gerda laying down and watching him showed at least a little relaxation. And it looked very much like at the end that Messi was teasing Gerda a little bit. He purposely got close and turned his back, knowing full well that Gerda couldn't get out of the enclosure.

I want to know what Sasha and Masha thought about this first meeting. They know so much more about big cats than me. The only comparison I have is observing house cats going at each other even through barriers like fences, the fur flying, the clawing at each other. This didn't seem all that aggressive - it seemed more like posturing for the most part. I am glad Gerda is no push-over and that she stood her ground. She is self-confident!

I think he's anxious and doesn't know how to deal with the situation. Gerda is much fitter and faster (obviously), she could be his fitness trainer. Poor Messi is confused, she needs to win him over with her masterful purring skills....! ♥️

Gerda is an extremely self assured together cat. I think Messi was warming to her when he charged towards the middle of the video it was very half hearted with no roar. They will become friends.😀

@@oliesmumashepherd6130 Gerda will never reside in the house. As well as, Gerda and Messi will never be best buddies playing around together. Gerda actually attacked Messi several times, when Messi turned his back to Gerda. That's how a Cheetah would do it in the wild. I've observed many commenters believing these two cats would play around together and be able to remain indoors with no issues. Isnt going to happen. My wife just viewed both video's and she is an expert....she's DVM and Animal Behaviorist.

Да,мальчики так сначала ведут себя,когда девочка нравится)),показывают смотри какой я сильный,смелый и тебя я не боюсь)))!Мессян раз в засаду,но не уходит,любопытно,интересно как красавица реагирует на него!
