I remember seeing this episode the first time it was broadcast. I had just started first grade, and it got me hooked on this show for the rest of its seasons. I was also in awe of Scott Baio and of this episode in general. I had seen the previews for it the week before and I waited to view the kiss between Kristy and Scott with very high anticipation. I ended up loving it even more than I expected and I remember getting ready for bed a short time later in a starstruck daze.

Richard Mulligan AND Kristy McNichol guest starring in the same episode? That's a fun coincidence considering they'd be co-stars on the long-running sitcom Empty Nest about a decade later. Love Kristy, and Richard is sorely missed. Both great actors who deserve way more credit than they get.
