I know no one is sticking anyone on purpose in unshielded face, but it's still unnerving. At 6:24, the guy in the bottom of the screen loses his shield to a battle axe (it gets pulled away). His face isn't covered. One slip up, and his face is a shnitzel.

Stridulvar Official I realize that, and I've participated in this kind of melee. Bluntness of weapons is a small consolation when you consider the weight. A schnitzel is a meat pounded by meat tenderizer, which isn't sharp. This isn't a practice skrim, this is a full on donnybrook. You don't need a sharp stick to break a nose.

Gary Chynne I reality Spears were the (apparent) go to weapon of the time. Pretty hard to get past a mass formation of Spears.

This is more educational than a historical reenactment. Every fighter is wearing the correct time period of clothing, the fighters are trained, and people fight over the dead bodies from the front line. I'm just wondering how the naked marshals aren't getting cut from the numerous amount of sharp objects? One wrong glance from a pole arm and the marshal gets seriously injured.

well, injuries are common, you are smashing the shit out of a another guy with a fucking axe or sword or spear or whatever. But most common are cuts through skin on head cuz of wrong helmet size ;)

Many in poland and russia are of Viking descent. Poland and Sweden also used to have the same King ( sigismind whos assosiate Micholaj Wolski The great marshalk was Hol4ding together the Polish empire in Lithuania. Just like Sweden and Denmark was at war and invaded one another Sweden and Poland share an interesting history. Mostly by culture and trade.
