But while your at it, just ~50m always, at El Aqsa and temple my which is under the Muslim authority - you are not allowed (by definition of the site regulations!) you are not allowed to bring a bible up there (even in your bag!) not alone a prayer book and for sure not wear the cross the way this abbot does. There its the official rules, in this case its a mistake by the person who approached and asked this abbot to hide the cross.

Seeing the video I got angry as well, as i also though he should not have limitation to go visit the Western Wall and the damage it can do giving back wind to all those antisematic ppl. Yet, since I know the regulations of the Western Wall site, and have been there many times - I know first hand its an isolated case or at worst- a situation in which individuals who work there decided to "create" new laws based on thier own opinions and judgemnt as i can guess it happened to others who encountered this lady (and this should be delt by the authorities of the site). Yet, the key point is that is does not reflect the law / regulations of Israel, contrary, Israel prompts freedom of religion and the Western Wall has never been more accessible to ppl from all over the world regardless of faith, race and color. The only restrictions relate to it being a holy site and therfore there are regulations regarding modest dress code and a separation between man section and woman section (like in a synagouge). it is a rather rare incident. I have visited the Western Wall plaza with all verity of guests - priests, abbots, seculars, Muslims and many who wore bold symbols - and never had a problem. The only issue that I encountered is the request to dress modestly. In this specific case, the person who is asking the abbot to hide his cross is doing wrong and NOT according to the site guidelines.

I am sitting at work in Jerusalem as I type this. I grew up in the country and have lived in Jerusalem for a while now. This is not surprising at all. I'm part of the small minority of Christians in Israel and every single day there is some sort of confrontation over not being Jewish. Living here as a non Jew is awful. I'm covered in Christian themed tattoos and just tattoos in general, I'm like a walking circus act to the majority of the population. I used to keep a cross on my bag and got harassed daily because of it. If you think Jerusalem is tolerant you have no idea what it's like to actually live here sadly.
