The reason the T14 Armata is not fielded in Ukraine is that Russia lacks the tractors to tow them to there.

You are right. It is only a prootyp, from a manufatcure. Kraus-Maffei-Wegmann is developing new sets for the Leopard 2. Called Kampfwertsteigerung. So, in the current version A 7... the Leopard 2 is the state of the art.

The new 130 mm ammo needs to be standardized by NATO. And there is no budget for that tank for now. And it will be expensive, probably double the amount of a Leopard II of today or even more.

I'm from Germany and my boyfriend is a Feldjäger in the Bundeswehr and he was in afghanistan, he always said that Germany builds some of the best military weapons in the world, builds itself better than the USA, we could be a very powerful military power, but the big problem of the Germans is very simple: we are tired of war For decades we thought we could live in peace on this planet, but Putin showed us that it's not like that, now the most important thing is to make the Bundeswehr big again, I hope that Scholz has understood that. 🇺🇳 🇺🇦

People who pay attention to history have no desire to see Germany strong again. I lived in Germany for two years. After having started two world wars there will be nothing left of Germany should it start a third world war. Nazism was never completely eradicated in Germany after WWII. Fascism has once again reared it's ugly head in the form of groupthink. If a german says something online or anywhere that is not approved by the government, the gestapo shows up at your door, you are arrested and taken away. It's 1939 all over again.

@adamabele785

@@stefanbog2495 the new tank has flatter angles and active and reactive technology to fend off missiles and projectiles. However, sometimes an advantage can also be gained by higher mobility. To be able to use a certain bridge can also be an advantage. But the truth is, that no tank, no matter how much armour, is indestructible. The tank that is protected against everything does not exist.

If the MBT is to persist in usefulness, a blank sheet design was a necessity. Too much has changed in the last twenty years, with major advancements in every key technology for a MBT. The active defense and top attack defense measures are vital in the modern era of smart, man portable AT missiles. Increasing the gun size also was needed to justify the size of the vehicle, considering much smaller vehicles can carry highly effective AT missiles. There will always be a need for heavy armor and heavy firepower on the ground, the only question was whether it was survivable enough to be useful. This tank seems to show that heavy armor is still viable, and is more deadly than ever.

The vehicle has an autoloader. But you can not drive the tank and at the same time watch out for targets, aim and fire. The commander listens to the radio and gives updates about their encounters all the time. In a battle situation the driver would take care to reach a secure position, the gunner will fight the main target, while the commander is on lookout for other potential threats and determines the next target. The tank has a space for a fourth person, a weapons specialist that keeps the autoloader and the canon running. This one is not necessary but is needed for maintenance. You also need people to restock ammo, refuel, clean the optics etc.

When the main ground Combat System (MGCS) 2030+ project, which will be called Leopard 3 in the future by the new corporate company KNDS (KMW+NEXTER Defense Systems), was created by Germany and France, Rheinmetall AG, which was excluded from MGCS, independently made it to interfere with the MGCS business. Note: The 140mm main gun MGCS prototype tank is currently available, and it's not just a good 140-130mm main gun. This is because the 130mm shell is large and heavy, so automatic loading is required, the number of loaded shells is reduced, the main gun is heavier due to the higher pressure, and the weight of the tank is heavier. In the recent Ukrainian War, there have been expert opinions on whether Russian tanks can be destroyed enough with 120mm 55L and 760mm sabot.

The German army is committed to the Franco-German project with Nexter. It will be equipped with an 120 mm L-55 gun but capable of carrying the 140 mm gun. It will be tested around 2025. This is the private development by the manufacturer that is why this one is much better thought out than the one where the MoD is involved in. When politics influence tank development the end result will always be disappointing.

France has experience and technology for development that Germany doesn't have. They have also been co developing pretty much everything you see come from Europe recently as well. You can have your opinion on France all you want. But co development will ultimately bring the better vehicle when integration is applied. Even talking politics, the European project has become a priority between France and Germany. With shared defense integration being ultimately cheaper then multiple redundancies in their militaries, since Germany needs to build its lacking military up.

@@mando_dablord2646 I think what we, certainly I, mean is not the fact that France is involved but that in such a project public authorities are involved, especially the infamous agency that is responsible for armament projects for the german army. This agency is the main reason why the german army is in such a sorry state and that it is even impossible to order a new assault rifle for 8 years now from a german manufacturer. Funding is approved, rifles are avilable, saves german jobs, the army wants it, the politicians want it. Everybody would win, yet it doesnt happen due to that agency. And the same might most likely happen if the German state and the French state develop a tank instead of a private german or french company.

@@honnebombll That's a bit more understandable. But Germany has been looking to rearm itself recently with the Ukraine war, or am I missing something in German politics? But with Nexter and KMW merging into KNDS the two corporations can apply themselves together to produce the MGCS project. A new EMBT has even been demonstrated recently, which uses the Israeli Trophy system as a place holder and Nexter's 30mm. As well as an updated armor package and a 4th crewmember for battlefield management.

If you do videos like this do better research - the V in the WW2 era Panther ( Panzerkampfwagen V) is not the letter V but stands for the roman numeral 5 ( as in the armored combat vehicle 5, the Tiger had the number 6 for example). Also either learn how to pronounce german words correctly ( easy to find on KZbin or the Internet in general) or not use them at all, it just sounds horrible if you butcher the words like that.

I am of the opinion, based on the war in Ukraine that tanks new or old are obsolete. When two guys on the ground can fire as many javelins and other similar handheld rocket launcher systems designed to neutralize heavy armour, with the kill ratio they’ve achieved, heavy armament effectiveness comes into question.

Well, just like with the Leopards, what's the point of building a new tank if you're too reluctant to sell it to nations who want to defend themselves? Other than Turkiye, Leopards were sold to nations as niche only.

That K51- panther is I think the first tank that I have seen developed in another country that has the look of the U.S. M1 Abrams tank. It seems to move like the Abrams tank. But I'm sure that the panther has more modern capabilities--like protection from attacks to the top of its turret, in addition to the loitering munitions in the form of drones that the new Panther can take with it. I'll say this though--I'm sure glad that Hienz Guderian didn't have this panzer!

@samfetter2968

The reason it looks so similar is because the chassis of the M1 is derived from the german Leopard 2...it is literally a german design. The turret of the M1 is a collaboration of british and german ingenieurs, the transition system a british design and the main gun was developed by Rheinmetal. The only things about the M1 actually designed by american ingenieurs was the gas turbine engine...the part that made the tank having a shorter range and making it louder than other tanks... and was prone to malfunction in desert terrain and was the main cause for M1s breaking down during operation desert storm 1. Also all the add on features that were designed at later stages, like the remote controlled top hatch machine gun were american inventions. But overall the M1 is just a further developed german Leo2. The reason the Leo2A5 looks pretty much like the M1 is because the german engineers had the capability of future improvements and developments already incorporated into the original design...and those happened to be those that gave the M1 its distinct look. As if the f'ckers knew...😏 You might notice that the KF51 has the same concept of being able to feature future improvements at its core. It is a very german thing to try to think ahead for such things. All about efficiency these guys...😏
