I enjoyed the Freddy grind to GK. My overall German BB grind was very fun. Sure some ships I struggled for a while to finally grasp on how to play them (Gneisenau). But overall, a very fun line to play. Picking your fights is always a must, even if your armor is great, it won't mean you are immune to damage. Your biggest threats will always be destroyers and CV's, although the Sonar helps against DD's. I do plan on rebuying Freddy and getting the historical camo for it, I did like it. If I'm being honest, I know many players don't like the German BB's, but I feel the Soviet BB line is one of the worst to grind. The guns lack the penetration and consistency to get things done. Sometimes they are very good though, like once every 8 games or something lol.

@COMMANDER-wm9vr Жыл бұрын
@@adzhanitristan6756 Those things are terrible indeed. Bismarck took me some getting used to as well, as it had no torpedoes. But in Bismarck, you don't need torpedoes to be an effective brawler. Play Bismarck mid to close range, it shines at those ranges, not so much as a sniper. 55% winrate is pretty good, I haven't played Bismarck in a very long time.

Freddy is the natural progression from Bismarck to GK. Less agility, more firepower. The GK's mains are hitting pretty hard now with the increased calibre.

Hehehe 😁 I haven't actually played Shima, AFAIR. The premium version, yes. This used to be the old style you'd play on the German BBs when they came out, acceleration was so bad that all you could do was run away from DDs and try to take them out with the 150s

You should do a Cross of Dorn ship review
@kardy12 Жыл бұрын
The Cross of Dorn is the ship I have played the most games in, and I think everything Terry said about the Odin in his review of it applies to the Cross of Dorn. The main difference is that the CoD has a permanent camo that gives main gun range and dispersion boosts, and replaces sonar with the skill that gives a 25% bonus to AP, whereas with the Odin you have the sonar skill and an option to get a camo that boosts secondary range and dispersion. Personally I would prefer secondaries, but I got the CoD in a pretty big discount sale they did for warhammer camo ships. It’s an excellent ship, and it forces you to learn map awareness, and to follow and expect DD movements to avoid torpedos - very good skills to have as a BB player at t8 or higher.

The bigger issue is what kind of T10 ships you end up facing. Double Vermont, Midway, triple Shima? Well, scratch that game. Same goes the other way, triple DzP div, or a Friesland in a top tier round won't go well, either.

Well, even if it’s a t10 battle it really depends on the composition. If it’s mostly BBs and cruisers, the FdG can do pretty well. If it’s a CV and 3-4 shimas you’re facing, you won’t have a good time even in most t10 BBs. And unfortunately, there’s often a lot of shima in t10 matchups…

I was so disappointed when I got Freddy. Probably the worst grind to Großer. And I thought the Vladivostok to sovetsky was bad..
@COMMANDER-wm9vr Жыл бұрын
Tbh, the grind for Soyuz is pretty bad. I am on the Vladivostok, and the guns on that ship are completely lackluster. Personally even at mid-range I get mostly semi-pens on BB's, and maybe it's my aiming, but sometimes on CL's, bounces. In FDG, I fared better. I still got to play Freddy when it had the 406mm guns, and those games sure some weren't good, cuz I was getting used to it, but then I got pretty good in it. I got the GK and it's fun, especially now that it has 457mm guns, which punish BB's in brawls, and anything giving broadside. I've had a love-hate relationship with the Soviet BB's because some games, the guns are amazing, and the majority are not. And yea, the dispersion on the Soviet BB's also had me pulling my hair out. I feel the penetration should be buffed a bit, as well as the dispersion, a -3% would do fine since those get the PA III starting in Tier VIII.
