The whole time you're talking I'm just gazing at the G41, some people say it's ugly but for me it's got a charm to it. Even though it's design is flawed it's only weaknesses are getting dirty quickly and that it's weight distribution is off which tbh I could live with if I owned one.

Nice score on the G41. Interesting to note that the Garand was originally adopted as a Bang system (gas trap) rifle as well.

Lol , yeah, I liked your reload demo ! your reloads are pretty smooth and fluid. I use a G43 for reenacting as well and I’m lucky enough to have 2 extra magazines. When I change mags during a battle, I don’t bother trying to put an empty mag back in the pouch, it just immediately goes in my smock pocket or even my pants pocket….that alone saves you several precious seconds and can be as fast or faster than stripper clips…you can always put the magazine back where it belongs after the battle. …..and just one other hyper nerdy detail I could add is that some men where probably never issued magazine pouches even if they had extra mags. I portray a Fallschirmjager and despite plenty of photos and footage of FJs using the weapon, I have yet to see them equipped with mag pouches, so their pockets was either their only option OR they chose not to use the pouches and it was their best option ? In other words, I appreciate the details and information you present in your videos 😁

Very nice video! Great stuff. Your are a proud lucky owner! I have an Stg44 that my government ( Stalinda ) has banned and most likely will be destroyed by Christmas. Doing all I can for an exemption. Hope you get the chance to do a nice vid on one one day.

They can't do that, I think you should sue the government for theft. Claim that you don't recognize the validity of the law and that it violates your rights. It's your personal property and if they take it away it's theft

When do you want to come to Kentucky for the MP40 and Maxim gun vid? I always had a soft spot for the G41, not the best semi auto out there by far, just a very cool piece. Nice pick up and vid.

Gorgeous K43 you got there. I’d like to add a late war parkerized example to my collection eventually. Also just wanted to comment on the rear sight knobs not being checkered. On my Walther ac44 G43 the knobs are still checkered. I wonder if this was one of the changes from G to K? Also the fit and finish is still quite good as far as G/K43’s go. I have always found the few examples of G43s with a fully machined receiver very intriguing as well.

G43 set of ammo was one pouch with two g43 mag and second pouch with standart clip. So they can choose.

Love this content, but do you have any Chinese rifles other than the 7.62x39 Arisaka? Chaing Kai-Sheks or Hanyang 88’s the history on these guns is basically forgotten but very interesting.

I have a Chinese contract "banner mauser" K98k. I would own more Chinese rifles but they tend to be in very rough shape. I want a Chinese Arisaka in 8mm Mauser next.

Milsurp World very cool! I have a 1946 Chiang Kai-Shek rifle shootable but was rough when I got it . It cleaned up pretty nice except the stock has a weird thick finish (FFL thought it was plastic at first) but, it was cheap and I love it!

The front sight has the same bad design feature as the M1 Garand in that it is not fixed to the barrel. If you've ever had to shoot an M1 with worn splines for the gas cylinder, you'll know what I mean. I'm sure the German used the same fix as the US did, peen the mating surface to make a tighter fit. Not optimal in either case I'm sure. BTW-He meant to say Zf-41 (1.5x) scope for the G41, not Zf-4 (4x), that was larger and on the G43.

Does anyone in this comment section know some trustworthy company or a person IN EUROPE that can restore a G-41....i found one in an old house... Its missing the front gas system,magazine and stock is also seen better days. But most of it is there. Id like to make it presentable and then sell it to a collector or something.

The Garand front site really isn't much different in that it also isn't on the barrel. My G41 is all matching and there is no play at all as you show. I have a 1950s M1 rifle that had play because the splines were worn so I had to peen them. I also have an 1944 M1 that has no play. If it is a "bad idea" on the G41, then it is a "bad idea" on the M1 too! Personally, I think if you have a worn or mixed parts rifle it will be a problem on either rifle. Overall, I'd say it was not the way to go, but if you're going to criticise the G41 for that, then the same should be said for the M1. Let's be fair. Overall, good job!

I just have to ask; what evidence is there that the gun system was “unreliable” or “not accurate”? It seems to me the major issue with the G41 was the cost and expense of mass producing it.
@MilsurpWorld
@MilsurpWorld 4 жыл бұрын
The main issue with the G41 is the gas trap system, which is why they switched the gas system with the G43. Other than fouling, the gas trap system is not very reliable in the extreme cold temperatures of the Russian winter.
@shooterreadyschannel9254
@shooterreadyschannel9254 4 жыл бұрын
Milsurp World thanks for taking the time to respond however, I keep reading “...not reliable in the Russian winter” with no evidence. It’s beginning to sound like an OWT. The pressure to operate the gas system comes from the powder. While certain powders are temperature sensitive, they are not so temperature sensitive as to cause a significant enough reduction in gas volume to meaningful impact the gas system. Until I see someone unable to get their G-41 to cycle reliable in cold temps using standard ammo, I’ll relegate this reason to OWT status.

It would not operate correctly in certain climates and was overall not a great combat rifle , also if you lose the cap on the 41 when cleaning it in the field it’s inoperable
