Thank you for a nice introduction to the German Gothic. A few remarks. I think that the most remarkable and typical example of hall -type churches you can find in the land which used to be ruled by the Teutonic Order for centuries. It was was called (East) Prussia (mostly in Poland now). For instance in TORUŃ (ger: Thorn) you have a splendid example of a great hall church which is Our Lady's (St Mary's) church. By the way Teutonic Order was a military order composed of "brothers-knights". Although they kept a hospital for German pilgrims in Jerusalem (as mentioned in the presentation) their main mission according to themselves was struggle against "infidels" . After the Holy Land had been lost by the crusaders they eventually conquered a territory from pagan tribes of Prussians, thus the name of the land.

@ 28:18 The chalice in this case is referring to the "new wine" that must not be put in "old wineskins" or "old bottles" mentioned in Matt 9:17 and the parallel passages in Mk 2:22 and Luke 5:36-39. It refers only secondarily to the Eucharistic bread and wine.
