I myself dogfight in my F-104 A.. Without a doubt 500-380mp you can turn well with excellent takeoff and landing flap managements. I got 3 kills involving dogfights but since it’s the A variant without the flares, I expect to get whooped.

@@7r3xy96 still a 104 the German tree has nothing like it until you get it. When he says don’t turn…. He means it. Fly away from the cluster fuck turn in and target someone. engage then shortly and leave. Speed is everything the flairs are nice but if you are uptiered to radar missile spam BR then you will get screwed regardless. So try to play as precariously as possible

Regarding aa at top tier, I think it is actually really well implemented now. If you are playing like an idiot, you die, if you understand the dead zones, it cant hit you. It has actually become a skill-based mechanic. Random damage aa like with props and in ground rb is fucking stupid though, especially with that dumb heli base in 8.0+ starting to shoot you while you are literally right above the tank map.

6:38 "just fly the Su-17" Why should I use the Su-17 over the Su-22? Compared to the Su-17 the Su-22 has flares and 2 extra R60s. Both are the same BR, neither have an airspawn. The Su-22 we have is an export Su-17M3 which is more advanced than the Su-17M2 in the regular tree.

I quite like the quicker matches especially on the city map. In early jets its really fun to use the buildings as cover and lead chases through the alley ways. Plus when you have no premium and no premium vehicles, I have no incentive to play longer matches. Its better to just get 2 kills or so then go straight to the next match. 2 kills gets me around 3k RP. A 7 kill game gave me only 5k. The amount of RP you get for each kill seems to go down by a lot for each kill.

They aren't the exact same. The J has 4 AIM-9Ps while the G has 4 AIM-9Js. I have never used the 9P so I can't say if it's better or worse than the 9J. For the rest, the German G has better CAS capabilites than either the J or the Italian and Chinese Gs. Logically, the J should indeed be 10.3 like the Gs, but Gaijin balances based on player stats, not vehicle stats, so its likely that Japan mains are simply better pilots on average than Germany, China or Italy mains

Gaijin retrofits lotsa other planes with flares and missiles but the US F-104s must be nearly identical and have to be both researched and bought... would like the 104C to get the same treatment a bit like the 10.3 starfighters. Lately I have really wanted to fly a jet in war thunder but I only have the F-80A and it really hurts to fly. It is so slow and the 50. Cals are so weak. Because of that I have been grinding Russia and am now just getting into tier 3 and my favorite plane is the La-5. The guns are great and it is not so fragile like American planes.

@@TransportSupremo I know playing low tier always helps me train and get my skill back up. It also helps me make money because For some reason tier 4 and 5 aircraft have stupidly high repair cost in the American tree. So not only is the f-80 hard to fly against literally every other jet in the game but the 14k repair cost cripples me. I need to get like 3 kills each match to make profit and I can’t get kills because every plane out turns me, out guns me, and they out runs me. Maybe once I get the C version with WEP and the M3 brownings which I maybe able to do better. The M3s are really good so I hope those help.
