Tony, that is a nice collection! DBGM is not the name of the key but stands for an abbreviation loosely equivalent to TM (as in Trademark). The company still exists in a small town of Honnef near Bonn I believe but has ceased to make the key. In German it is just referred to as Junker key. Solid as a rock though, generations of army radio men practised on those. 73 Jan DK3LJ

Having been a former german merchant marine radio officer I am quite sure that "DBGM" is/was a (former) german ship call sign. Classic ship station call signs consisted of 4 letters, the 1st and 2nd letter identifying the flag of the vessel. So may be you could try to investigate on which ship this key was in use. 73 DL3NRV

The Junker keys were marked D.R.P. (Deutsches Reichs Patent). before 1945. After 1945 Marked D.B.G.M. (Deutsche BundesGebrauchsMuster). Source www.pa3egh.nl/morse-keys-from-europe/morse-keys-germany/

Hi EI2KC, I really enjoyed your video! I actually have a Junker key(M.T 59) at home but have no idea how to set it up. It didn't have any cords attached when I found it. I am inspired to learn more and become a HAM by this finding. It would be appreciated if you could explain a bit about how you set it up :)

What is base made of and it's dimensions (length width thickness) and is that how it came from Junker? I have a few speed-x keys and I made some brass and steel bases of various length and thickness for them. They also fit my ARH? J38 that my dad bought for me back in the '60s for $1.00US at a thrift shop! Thanks for the video.

DBGM means only "small German Patent" it's not the type of the key. 73 from DL.

The size of the key is quite large. I thought it was the size of a J 38 Lionel Co. I like the size of the base, below the knob, as it should be. Good acquisition. enjoy it. 73 LU8HRW
