I don't mind the constant "ok's" at all. It makes your great lessons feel natural, like spending time with a friend who's teaching me. I always say, "you know". We all have little speech habits. Thank you for the terrific lessons. You truly have a gift for teaching!

Vielen Dank für den Unterricht. My parents were German but I was born in Melbourne, Australia where I still live. Meine Eltern sind schon lange tot aber now I want to learn German again but don't have anyone to talk or listen to. Your videos are perfect for me and I am surprised by how much I can actually understand. Speaking is still a challenge though! My aim is to learn enough to get by when I travel to my mum's hometown, Berlin, in 2018!

I'm portuguese and I'm taking german classes at high-school (I'm at A2) and you've been so helpful to me! I must thank you! One thing, I'm learning prepositions like woran, wovor and so on and I'd love to see a video explaining it because it's not that easy, and it's a bit complicated.

(:D) hervorragende Leistung!! :)

I know that in German you can get the noun from a verb by capitalising its first letter (for exemple: essen --> das Essen). Following this rule can you say: Ich mag Schlafen (or Essen, Scwimmen, Tanzen, ecc.) or is it too strange to see? Moreover, when can you use the verb "gefallen"? Vielen Danke!

Why do you use the expression "es anfängt zu regnen" I know is infinite form for the "zu" but does not the verb has to be separated from the prefix? something like, und es fängt an zu regnen? i just want to know when to separte in infinitve cases and when not to jaja
@lingoniGERMAN
@lingoniGERMAN 8 жыл бұрын
+NicoxBass yes you have to separate the prefix from the stem unless it is used in a subordinate clause. Such as in: wenn es anfängt zu regnen, gehe ich nach Hause. But: es fängt an zu regnen. Ich gehe jetzt nach Hause.

Hallo! Since you mentioned cars... I learned a long time ago that a car was "Wagen". But I noticed Germans usually say "Auto". Is there a reason for that or is it just a habit? Thank you. I'm enjoying learning & revising with your videos. They're never boring!

Danke! Schnelle Antworte! Hmm, I think "Wagen" might be used more generally for any type of vehicle on wheels (could be train, horse carriage...) but Auto(mobil) is very specific to cars that we drive. But i get it, that nowadays we use Auto more commonly.
