I think the translation didn't go well here. She says, freely translated, you must have a girlfriend at home or a boyfriend? That must have upset him, because she assumed he could be gay.

@@pgdeluxe3359I know, although doesn't "Liebste/r" also mean family? Like "deine Liebsten" means your partner, family and maybe even really good friends
@lolalina_9 ай бұрын
@@cheydinal5401 In this case it's meant as loved one (female) or loved one (male), else she would have said "Sie haben Ihre Liebsten daheim" but she said "eine Liebste oder einen Liebsten" implying either a female loved one or a male loved one. And I guess he wasn't angry at the "einen Liebsten", but truly much rather angry by the way the journalist asked him this question. I guess he was too aware of journalists asking leading questions all the time, so when she asked him this, even though it seems silly he wanted to make sure to let her and us know that, that is not right to do.
@maximkretsch71349 ай бұрын
@@cheydinal5401Yes, "Ihre Liebsten" means "your loved ones", exclusively. When referring to someone's significant other you'd use the singular. And that was what upset him.
@user-un8tv1pp8m8 ай бұрын
The way he instantly went to the _"journalists manipulate and lie"_ schtick points towards a political subtext here. Thats a very common trope of german right-wingers. All right wingers, really. But the german ones are much more defensive about it that for example italians or brits. So I believe this was in some context of right winger event, and he instantly wanted to shut down any talk to the "Lügenpresse". That crowd very commonly refuses to talk to non-aligned media using such wording. I´v literally seen hundreds of journos trying to talk to such crowds at such events, and that reaction is really, really archetypical. Probably did not help that she included the possibility of him being gay. But the memetic setup smells of something more.

The very first clip had me laughing. That small "Entschuldigung" was so funny before the "Sie Wichser". And if my understanding of German is correct, he just went from informal (du) to formal (sie) because they're policemen, which is top tier mischievous behaviour

@@gameofpj3286 And then the policemen barreled through his front door again lmao I'm glad I wasn't wrong. I'm trying so hard to learn German haha
@maximkretsch71348 ай бұрын
The insult "Wichser" (wanker) alone can be used without a personal pronoun, as was initially done here. This left it unclear whether an informal address was the case at all. Why the police officer reacts anyway is the fact that "Wichser" in itself is a significantly more serious insult than an additional informal address would be. The fact that the owner of the flat first apologizes, then repeats the insult with an emphatically formal address, as if its absence had been the main problem, is the real twist.

@@maximkretsch7134 This. And this is also why people think we Germany have no humor. tbh German memes are even for Germans sometimes really confusing and random but some memes here have German context or insider. I get it why you don't understand the humor. some memes were with dialect which makes the video even funnier or the way they talked. Some memes can really only understand if you're German

As a Hungarian randomly hearing my language in the middle of a German/English video was surprising xd (btw This took place during covid and she was talking about the vaccination centers, and that some guy wanted to have one unified center in the country but the different regions all made ones themself so now booking an appointment is weird or something)

3:00 this isn't a meme, the S4 really can put the power down, 4.2 litre V8, 40 valves, add some form of forced induction - you've got a winner
@Ashwey_0699 ай бұрын
But they are such a nightmare to maintain i had an s8 with v10 it was fast but always had its problems, and some day there only were like 4 cylinders left lol. This S series from the early 2000 really was terrible, the S4 seems to be exception tho
@addywachol32929 ай бұрын
Dont need to add forced induction. The 2.7 V6 in the video got biturbo as a stock RS4 b5 also the S4 b5 got already biturbo. But for sure this Audi is tuned. You mentioned the S4 b6 model
