I wouldn't say feared, the germans just lost air supremacy so they had to adjust accordingly. It's like saying sherman tankers feared pz 6s and 7s becuase they put extra armor on the shermans. No, they just had weaker armor and adjusted accordingly

To me it seem most of them are assigened to the 8th Infantry Division. At 7:10 one soldier clearly has their insignia. Maybe that sergeant at 7:07 is from the 82nd Airborne. He wears a square patch. But on all POW I do not see any special equitment from the Paras. Especially no parachute helmets. The last both of the at 7:12 do not seem to me american at all. Because the americans hat no berets at that time. They may be british. Maybe british Paras. Or do you mean from 7:17 on? Those are clearly us airborne infantry.

They actually were closing to being pushed back to the beaches and off it, the tank commanders that were planning the armored assault were located through the allied ENIGMA, they knew the precise location of the tank commanders and send a whole lot of bombers and fighters to strafe the building they were in, by the time few enough other commanders got together it was 3 weeks later - by then the assault had no chance of succeeding, and the allies knew it. That is why they made use of the ENIGMA in this manner (they usually did not in order to make it seem to the Germans as if they knew nothing).

The O-s-G was no such thing, contrary to the official story of the village being wholly innocent, the patrol searching for the abducted officer stumbled across over a dozen sewing machines, they'd discovered a likely marquis/FF badge making enterprise. As was standard security operation practice the men and older boys were securedwhile the village was searched and for their SAFETY, the women and children were taken to the church. The official version of events is that the Germans torched the church, wahat actually happened was that the patrols arrival caught a number of marquis in the church by chance which they were using as an explosives dump, a fire fight ensued and the whole lot exploded, contemporaneous photographs clearly show bodies that are not charred in any major way but literally blown limb from limb, remember de Gaulle's policy of l'essui or l'epponger, to wipe clean or actually, erase from sight.

Why not? Lots of our guys got themselves Lugers. The Luger, like almost everything German was beautifully made but over engineered. You dropped it in the mud you would have to strip it and clean it and take care not to lose any fiddly bits. The .45 you could stomp it into the mud and it would still work. Also the German army had major supply problems on account of the myriad of Allied fighter bombers always patrolling the sky. American ammunition and the gun to shoot it with were probably easier to get than German ammo.

The only equipment missing from these elite troops are tooth brushes, and paste. Everyone should watch Norm Macdonald's impersonation of their infamous leader, "SHLAKEN! SHLAKEN! SHLAKEN!..." His bit about the subject is very funny. How I wish my father were alive so we could watch these together. He was murdered when I was 5 (I've been investigating it on my own, as it was deemed a suicide). I believe he was a reincarnated German soldier. I remember him teaching me to goose-step in our living room, surrounded by his collection of WW2 Nazi memorabelia. He was found washed up on an island beach in Massachusetts, and it entered my mind that perhaps his immediate previous body died on a beach as well in 1944. He was born February, 1945 in the body that would only be with him 25 short years. I miss, and Love You Daddy.

In june the reports come from Normandy. In september it comes from the siegfried line. Any german with a map could see the downfall of the Reich. Ordentlich? Propaganda!

If I see the comments here I better don’t do it… just propaganda telling that Germany will win the war or they describe war situations with easy sentences like: "infantry units storm the lines of the English man, they hate so much“ or "German planes fly a night attack with the most modern planes and technology"
