Bangla is a melting pot of Indian subcontinental culture and religious unity, also it has her own persona and sweetness which is only unique to Bangla/Bengali/ Bengal, be it West Bengal or Bangladesh. This song was written by a veteran poet, lyricist, and first Asian ever to win a Nobel prize Rabindranath Thakur (Tagore), honestly, a Nobel prize isn't enough to describe his body of work, nothing in the world can possibly describe him.
