Oh supreme being, the leader of the celestials, and the darling of the cowherds (of Gokulam), I shall not desire, even if offered, the position of the ruler of Indralokam(Heaven)), in lieu of enjoying the sight of you here, Oh lord of lords ,who dwells here in Srirangam.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

This song is originally composed in Samskrit Language in 700AD - 800AD. Sanatan Never Age........
@chandraravikumar2 жыл бұрын
The song was composed by Sri Muthuswamy Dhikshithar, one of the Thrimurthis / trinities of Karnaataka Sangeetham. He lived during the last quarter of the 1700’s and first quarter of the 1800’s, that is about 200 to 250 years ago. Sri Dhikshithar wentbon a pilgrimage to many important and sacred temples from South to North. He composed thus song when he was at Anthima Srirangam on the Kaaveri. ( The other two are Aadhi Srirangam and Madhya Srirangam.)

@kiranramachandran4163 Жыл бұрын
@@thesoundyouneed4191 Actually it IS Sanskrit. Most of Dikshitar's compositions were in Sanskrit. It is true that the South Indian languages are a different language family but Sanskrit was very much a part of the South Indian culture.

The first piece which is a short verse is called a " viruttam" in tamil. It's an invocation. It's about a devotional poem on lord vishnu which says that the devotee doesn't need heaven but only want to utter the lords name which is sweeter than anything else. Composed by thondaradipodi alwar The main piece is a magnum.opus composition of the one of the trinity of carnatic music , muthuswamy deekshitar. It's in the ragam brindaavana saaranga. The raags name is there on the song itself. Both poems are devotional poems par excellence. It's about ranga one of the aspects of vishnu. It's part of the devotional path or bhakthi rasa for salvation. Others being the path of gnaana or intellect and enquiry, yoga or psychic, karma or through work!!

The song written by Thondardipodiazhavar is part of collecton of songs known as Nallayira Divya Prabhandam, (4000 songs) in praise of Hindu God - Vishnu sung by twelve devotees known as Azhavars. Written between sixth and ninth century. Other part is in Sanskrit, another classical language from India!
