Das Heckerlied ist ein Revolutionslied der Badischen Revolution von 1848/1849. Friedrich Hecker versuchte mit dem von Konstanz ausgehenden Heckerzug die Revolutionäre in Baden zu sammeln, um die Residenzstadt Karlsruhe einzunehmen und anschließend die großherzogliche Regierung absetzen zu können. Nachdem dieser Aufstand im Gefecht auf der Scheideck am 20. April 1848 von preußischen und hessischen Truppen niedergeschlagen worden war, musste Hecker mit den meisten Teilnehmern in die Schweiz fliehen. Er kehrte nicht mehr nach Baden zurück, sondern wanderte dauerhaft in die USA aus.

"Heckerlied" is a song of the Baden Revolution in 1848/1849. Friedrich Hecker tried to gather revolutionaries in Baden with a march starting from Constance to occupy the capital Karlsruhe and then overthrow the government of the Grand Duke. After this uprising was suppressed by Prussian and Hessian troops at the Battle of Scheideck on April 20, 1848, Hecker and most of the participants were forced to flee to Switzerland. He did not return to Baden, but permanently immigrated to the USA.
