Thanks for another great video Zac and Lucy! The downside of a smart GSD/Alsatian dog is they’re sneakier than any human I’ve ever met! Upside is usually they’re just mischievous in a funny kind of way! Though I feel for you if it amounts to thousands of $ in yard damage! Never thought to get an agent for my dogs but sounds like a good idea! I did have two of my GSD/Alsatian’s that got hired for a scene in the SanFrancisco Opera’s Version of Wagner’s Ring trilogy. A male named Strider and a Female named Nalia, they had to be trained to chase a woman who was running from Nazi soldiers across the stage! No big deal as they knew I was on the other side waiting for them with some really good ham! A handler on the other side would just release them and they would come to me with the woman in between (they just weren’t supposed to out run or catch her!) I’ve still got their artist in residence photo ID badges they had to wear on their collars to get inside the building and to the back stage area LOL! But the pay for the 4 practice sessions and 4 performances was great it came to a couple grand and was the most fun I’ve ever had and been paid for! I’ll be holding my breath and crossing my fingers🤞for you Zac; hoping for a successful outcome to your shoulder surgery! I’m sure Lucy and Felicity will be pulling for you and helping you out as well! So no worries! Right?!😉😊

hey guys so just to add to the pulling on lead. Herm Springer is the make to go for on prong collar. It's cheap prongs that give a bad rep. And plenty of good videos out there on how to use. but it's day and night re pulling. you don't need to be rough it's just about being clear. I actually feel bad for using a flat and slip beforehand.

I love the pink scrunchie with the bow to cover up her ears I told my male GSD I should use that on him when I bath him. I got a look that said If you do just remember you have to go to sleep sometime.

What time of day do you feed Lucy? Is it the same time daily. Do you exercise her before or after eating? How long before or after eating do you exercise her? Great Video!! Im getting my first GSD and Im pretty excited.

Don’t exercise after eating, it could lead to bloat, which is prevalent in large breed dogs. Always feed at approximately the same time every day, for puppies, you’ll be feeding at least 3 times daily. Use the a out of kibble that you’ll be feeding as training treats. Get your puppy to follow you around and give her treats as you praise him. Do this consistently and her recall will be so easy to teach. If this is your first gsd, I would highly recommend finding a reputable trainer that trains this breed.

Please treat it as a serious question: how do you go about tiding up after your dog when you go for a walk? Special technique, equipment, just a hand and a bag? This is natural thing for a dog to relieve themselves and collecting the droppings is a responsibility of the owner but I admit this presents a certain mental barrier for me, especially when I think about a big dog, such as Lucy.

No problem just use a bag as a glove pick up mess invert bag around your hand tie a knot in the not full end of bag dispose of bag in trash. Job done! No big deal. Do it twice if you can’t get it all in one pass.

So funny Zak, you wash, massage, stretch, talk to, and love Lucy the same way I do with Nadya, my long coat GS, she looks like Phoenix too. We train and exercise 6-7 days a week, and if we happen to have an off couple of days, like you said, she just flips the off switch and chills out. My opinion of course, German Shepherds are the perfect dog!

My gsd is 8 months and she still chews me up! Most of the time, she does it for play / attention. I use to say ouch and walk away, but then she'd chase me. Saying "no" firmly has helped so much! I think the yelping and walking away reminded her fetch with a squaky toy LOL

So our we got our German Shepherd as a rescue at 6 months old and she is now 1yr 3 m/o and she still gets mouthy with my wife and I from time to time. We’ve been grabbing her mouth and telling her NO every time she does it but it just hasn’t worked. Wondering if you might have any other ideas as to how to break this with her.

We live in Minnesota and go out every single day, multiple times. I use booties to protect his feet from the salt people use to melt the ice on the sidewalks and streets, and when it’s extremely cold I put on his sweater.
