The way the dog is stretching looks like the pack is Ready for a hunt. Wolves also howl to tell eachother to Gather and make themselves Ready.. not sure cause Im not a wolf specialist maar look at the body language

No smell? No problem! But if that scent smell was in that room or near by, he would've lit up the whole house. They are very,very smart. When they let off that grown dog bark....lol!
