I always find it fascinating of how much I can understand Afrikaans as a native German speaker. South Africa is so far away from Europe, yet the language, because of history, is so close related

Please make a video about the 'Vai' language spoken in parts of Liberia and Sierra Leone. This language has its own unique writing system which is one of the very few writing systems of Africa which did not originate from the Arabic or Latin writing system.I didn’t find any video of this language in this channel. I would be very glad to know what this language sounds like!

Would be cool to compare Afrikaans with South African English. The pronunciation is so similar.

Firstly, there is no such thing as South African English. Another thing is that a South African's accent in English varies according to the speaker's native language. The accent of a Zulu speaking English differs from that of an Afrikan speaking English.

Ma and Pa would relate more to the English Mom/Mum and Dad. Moeder and Vader relates to the English Mother and Father. Though saying Moeder en Vader for Mother and Father in Afrikaans in daily usage sounds very old fashioned when speaking to your parents that way. Broer is also the shortened version of Broeder (English Brother) and the more typical usage in everyday language to refer to your brother or speaking of your male sibling His pronunciation of Donderdag was also very Lomp as we describe it in Afrikaans. He should prounounce it clearly with the second D in Donderdag also emphasised, seems he also dropped to pronounce the third D in Donderdag as well
