Germanic linguistics is the field that tries to reconstruct the evolution of the Germanic languages. If you want to know more about that, Make yourselves comfortable and listen to Professor Fabio, who is also a tour guide and a superstar and something else as well but I don't remember what.

I am wondering if is it possible for you to make more videos about the transformation of old English pronouns, verb inflections... to be able in a near future to analyse short sentences from OE/ ME to Modern English. My class and I would really appreciate it.

Hello and thank you for your nice feedback! What I want to do for the moment is completing the "general" Germanic course. I was thinking of going deeper into the single languages in a later stage. I hope I have enough time to do that! :-) this is for me a first experiment and I'm glad students find this helpful!

@@abhinavchauhan7864 Hi, linguistics is a wide scientific field, very hard to stay where to start from, I think what you have to understand first is what your main interest is. Anyway, I would suggest you to watch the video course "Crash Course Linguistics" on "Crash Course", here on KZbin.

Germanic innovated strong and weak declension adjectives? But wait -- don't Baltic (and a fortiori Balto-Slavic) also have two declensional patterns for adjectives, ultimately dependent on definiteness? And isn't it all originally from the use of a 'repeater' pronoun right after the adjective (which is why the endings look like those of a pronoun / definite article)? In which case, aren't the Balto-Slavic and Germanic systems cognate and thus reconstructible to some higher node within Indo-European?

Indo-Germanic has nothing to do with prioritising Germanic, it has to do with the easternmost and westernmost subfamilies: Indo for India as Sanskrit (at the time) was the easternmost, and Germanic because Icelandic was the westernmost language. If they wanted to sound cool, they would have named it "Germano-Indic" with Germano coming first.😂
