What a game! The flamethrower was great with the building, those dice wouldn't let the germans keep any momentum. Great game all round!

it was an interesting game. great scenery. the D.A.K player should take comfort in knowing that, you learn more from losing, than what you do in winning.

Ouch! Some painful dice there! I don't have the campaign book but I guess there is some caveats regarding what's allowed because infantry in buildings with no HE to counter is a pain. Not sure why the trucks weren't used to get the infantry up close could have made a difference. Still debating whether the 222 would have been batter used to take care of the armour and used the autocannon HE on the dug in infantry!

The campaign book does give you theater selectors you have to use and sometimes limitations on top of that. Experience level, types of vehicles etc.-Mikey

Yes, mistakes were made by me :) I forgot about putting guys in the trucks until Salvo asked me if they were in there ,,, at that point I could have lied and said yes, or be honest and say no ... so I said no.

I am not a BA player, but was interested to see how it plays. Basing on this report, this game looks pretty static. It's mostly "stay where you are and roll the dice". How would you describe the appeal of that, because at first glance it looks quite boring? Do most games look like that?
@tri-starwargaming2 жыл бұрын
I would say that most games have 1 player be mostly static as there are a lot of attacker/defender scenarios. The appeal for me mostly is the historical aspect of it. I personally don't enjoy picking random game modes from the book but do like these historical battles. Trying to re-write history I guess-Mikey

I suggest you to watch some other battle reports we have uploaded on this channel, the "western desert" book is based on historical scenarios and therefore is not designed to be "balanced". This scenario specifically was designed to be static (defending the town), others are more dynamic. - Salvo

@@tri-starwargaming Hmm, my wargame of choice is Warmachine and it pretty much forces heavy, precise manoeuver throughout the entire game (scenario elements are placed centrally and ignoring them means losing VERY quickly). I doubt I'd find just setting models down and rolling dice with hardly any interesting decisions, but I guess that's the historical re-enactment element that you enjoy. Thanks for the answer! :)

@@robertchmielecki2580 all of the guys here at tristar have varying opinions of this game. From absolute love to basic enjoyment to frustrations lol. Andrew is currently working at getting us all into WM and Hordes. I imagine it will run the same gambit of enjoyment we have with this game. I personally love the minis but I would be lying of I told you that I'm excited for all the heavy strategies from beginning to end. As I've aged I have found that hanging out and chatting while rolling dice has taken precedence over strategy and planning. Thankfully there are a lot of different options for all of us. Thanks for your continued support and stick around for one WM/H content-Mikey

@@tri-starwargaming We're lucky to live in a world where wargames are so varied that they can cater to all kinds of gamers and there's always something you can enjoy playing with your buddies :) Varying YT content is also a great thing as you can get people interested in new stuff. WM&H definitely isn't for everyone (rules bloat is BAD) and requires a friendly and welcoming community that allows new players to discover it at their own pace, but there's no other game where I get so much intellectual satisfaction from getting things work just right :) Thank you for the content that you create !
