I think the editing was a bit too heavy on chopping things out; there was no indication of what Etcheverry did to get sent off and the nature of the situation for the goal was omitted. The keeper came rushing out to try and dispossess one German forward before he got the ball under control, because otherwise the keeper was going to be sat waiting for the two Germans to pass it around him. The defence had taken themselves out of the equation by getting the offside trap wrong against a long German ball. I remember that it seemed like a bit of luck for the Germans, a goal out of nowhere in a game in which they were underperforming somewhat. Still, it was good reactions from the German forwards that made the goal happen.

Stefan Effenberg, The Tiger being sent home was a major blow to Germany. Effenberg was seen as the heir apparent to Lothar Matthäus. He was a tremendous player but very temperamental. Effenberg showed the middle finger to the Germans and he was sent home by Germany coach Berti Vogts. Germany was an older team that wilted in the US heat. I remember how hot it was at the Citrus Bowl, Orlando when I saw Belgium vs Morocco and Belgium vs Holland. 2026 World Cup is going to be very hard on the European teams because of the hot weather. I hope they play the games late and not at mid day.

Lothar, I believe, was the biggest problem with the Germany 🇩🇪 team at the 1994 World Cup. His time as the Captain was done. He was wonderful during his reigh at 1986 and 1990 World Cups. The team was now looking to Jurgen Klinsmann for their leader, and yet Lothar fought for himself, very selfish of him. What a World Cup for Klinsmann, if they would have beat Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Klinsmann would have won the Golden Boot.

Man, the Germans played very dirty with no shame; the game should be replayed to compensate the Bolivians, thus, FIFA should summon the affected teams to replay their games respectively, like if the replayed game ended with a draw, Spain would top the group and play Belgium, while the Germans would play the Swiss, and if they both advance, the Spaniards would play Bulgaria, and Germany would play the Italians, hence, all the mentioned teams should be summoned again.

The Germans played dirty b/c they were frustrated with such an underdog team that could have beaten them. That goal was an off-side that they didn't even show the replay for. The red card for Etcheverry was very questionable too.
