Correct!sUsing synthetic division,the other two roots can easily be found. Any mathlete would solve this in a minute or two.

y = 2^x. We have y^3 + y^2 - 36 = 0, y = 3 is an evident solution then we can factorize: (y -3).(y^2 + 4.y +12) = 0 The equation y^2 + 4.y + 12 = 0 has no real solution (delta< 0), so y = 3 is the only solution. Then 2^x = 3 and x = ln(3)/ln(2) is the only real solution of the given equation.
