Really good video, I've not heard of the B500, I shall look into that. I had exactly the same experience in France with cars tailgating, even at 5.00 am a short way from the ferry on a deserted road, I ended up with a truck / tractor unit right on my tail... scary. I also agree with you about over safe speed limits (Black Mountain road, Wales) and taking individual responsibility. Unfortunately, there will always be those that push it too far beyond their capability and then the emergency services have to clear up the mess both human and machines!

On the subject of cleanliness of campground WC (toilettes) in mainland Europe, my experience is its become a matter of having to spend more money and stay and a higher "star" rated campgrounds. I pretty much only stay at 4 or 5 star campgrounds now which usually are kept cleaner. Any lower rating and it can be downright disgusting...and you wonder how people were raised to do this!! You no longer see the old cleaning lady with a plate for tips, who was right there cleaning when the toilet seat was still warm. I always look at online reviews as well. Its a matter of sucking it up and paying more for better service. Eva, the issue of drivers riding your ass or doing stupid passing in blind corners is common here and I will never get used to it...and it drives me crazy as well, car or motorcycle. I have got to the point where I will just slow down so much they just pass and leave me alone or lightly apply my brakes or turn on my rear fog light to tell them to back off. I have learned on roads with lots of roundabouts (like Italy), I use the roundabout to "ditch" the tailgaters even if it means going around more than once. Its my new strategy to keep me from giving them the finger and getting myself a 1000 euro fine 🤣.
@ontheroadadventure2 ай бұрын
You get a fine for giving the finger?! We like the roundabout idea, we hate these morons, the fear of being taken out by someone else’s stupidity is always high in Europe, Poland is ridiculous for it as well

It's not that the B500 is a dangerous road but there were too many dangerous riders, it is not a race track. Too many treated it like that so they had to bring in the limits on the bottom section to reduce deaths. I have ridden it twice, first in 2022 it was fog for most of the road with visibility down to 50 meters at times, not fun and no desire for higher speeds. The second in 2023 it was sunshine all the way and really hot although I cut off it down the L96 to Wolfach then to Triberg, some really great roads, even better than the B500.
