It's the german mainstream media, that is spouting misinformation, respectively leaving out some important details. And if they're wrong, the report about it, but not so everyone hears it, those news you only read/hear, if you stick to the topic for longer. For example, the ZDF presented a statistic about attacks on members of political parties. When they showed the numbers, it looked like members of "Die Grünen (The Green)" would be attacked most. I looked into the source and what did I discover? The numbers, that were presented were the overall numbers, but the statistic has different categories, for example attacks on offices and buildings. So, in which category were the Green's members mostly attacked? Verbal attacks! But that is up to the person's interpretation and will, if they feel attacked. And now guess what? The members of the AfD were BY FAR attacked the most in the category of "physical attacks". That is objective violence, if you get punched in the face, that is NOT up to your interpretation, you were OBJECTIVELY attacked. And that is just ONE example, how the mainstream media in Germany spreads misinformation, but it should suffice to explain the basic principle...

I am a legal resident in Germany just a few months ago, an international student in Koln, in a private university, I paid literally almost 20,000 euros to get this visa done! and it was extremely difficult to convince the German embassy to give me the visa just because I am from Libya, so If you have the money, and you want to come here legally, they will make it extremely difficult for you, but if you're uneducated, and a potential terorrist, they will welcome you with open arms , give you social welfare and your life will be so easy ! Not as long as people like Höcke have as much sway in the party as they have _right_ now. Pun intended. Weidel is talking about her wing of the party, but they are a minority, and she currently is little more than a fig leaf without any real influence over the overall party's direction. Richard Spencer doesn't control two thirds of the Republican Party, but Höcke controls large parts of the AfD, and, yes, he and his ilk are actually that bad. I say this as someone who is quite sympathetic to Libertarian ideas and basically gets an aneurysm every time I have to interact with our bureaucracy. I'm hella frustrated with the lack of reformist agendas most German parties are proposing in this regard. Still, it is not worth putting people like Höcke anywhere near the levers of federal power.

Frauke Petry, Bernd Lucke and Joerg Meuthen wanted to integrate the AfD into the political mainstream as quickly as possible. That would have meant giving up everything that makes this party special. For example she says that renewable energies can't be the solution in the long run and that nuclear power should be reintroduced. First Half of germanies energy comes already from renewables like solar and wind and second she doesn't realize that you just can't build a nuclear power plant in 5 years or so. Besides that nuclear Power is dozens of times more expensive than renewable energy. Thats just one point. This party doesn't present a nuanced perspective on complex topics but instead uses populism to gain the vote of the uninformed and unhappy citizen.

I never intended to watch this whole interview but after the first few minutes I was mesmerized by the onslaught of common sense coming from this Lady and she skilfully deflected this Bloomberg employees frequent attempts to hang the "Far Right", slur around her Parties neck. They get a lot of social welfare even though they haven't done a single thing for the country. Meanwhile, the pension funds are empty and poverty among the elderly is on the rise. Acts of violence are at a record high, just like our refugee numbers. You can see the correlation. Women are being whistled at or even harassed in the city. Why don't these people adapt to German culture and we have to adapt to them? My father and the fathers of my colleagues came to this country 40 years ago and have made it without any support courses that are offered today and are not used by the majority (be it language courses or job counseling). It's just a shame that Germany allows itself to be exploited like this and that people don't realize it.

Except Reagan was not a sock puppet of Matthias Koehl Jr. and Thatcher wasn't a front for Oswald Mosley. Weidel is just propped up as a candidate to be a fig leaf for Höcke, who has influence over large parts of the party. The AfD is rightfully labeled as "far-right" as long as Höcke and his ilk wield as much influence as they currently do. There is a reason they got kicked out of the ID-group in EU parliament by the French RN, Italian Lega, and Austrian FPÖ among others of similar political alignment. The AfD is not the same as these others, and if you think they are, you're making a big mistake.

Der Kanzler wird vom Parlament gewählt, deshalb ist es so wichtig das die AfD möglichst gut bei den nächsten Wahlen abschneidet. Eigentlich bräuchte es um sicher zu gehen 51% für die AfD, damit sie Kanzlerin wird.
