We had a fantastic road trip on the Fairytail route. Started in Frankfurt where we picked up the van, spent a couple of days over the weekend as the van needed an oil change before we returned it, so we got it done on the Monday. Had a lovely weekend in Hanau, before heading up to Bremen. We worked our way back down ending up in Alsfeld. We loved it. Made a detour to Hannover to see Springsteen. Even has a couple of fantastic wild camp nights Wurst Salat is The best. It is either Flieschwurst or Lyoner wurst

Great Vlog, 'love Germany'(lived/worked there for 10 years a while ago), really interested to follow you on this route, we've never done this one. What a stunning place for your evening drink😊. A route that I was unaware of before but will now add it to the list of routes to be completed in Germany. You mentioned the number of cigarette machines and the young smoking. The German machines are fairly intelligent and you need your identity card to be allowed to purchase from the machine as it checks your age. However as you say it is still very acceptable to smoke in most outside venues.

great video ..and i love germany especially the mosel cochem area .smaller and to me the mosel is more stunning than its bigger sister the rhine , which is still a beautiful area .will have to try the romantic road for sure looks amazing

Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. Travelling The Fairytale Route, can’t sound anymore magical than that! As always the scenery is amazing. I have one question, how does Mr. Slaw manage to remember which side of the road to drive on ? Switching from left to right, depending on which country you are visiting, seems daunting,😳.

Apfelwein = cider! It's a sacrilege to drink beer in the state of Hesse. There are unfortunately still a lot of cigarette machines in Germany, but you can only draw a package when you insert your ID-card into a slot first to prove that you are older than 16.

Mr Slaw with your extensive collection of stents do you have any problems getting travel insurance and is it expensive?

Hi, we haven’t had any problems getting travel insurance for Slaw. As long as you’re at least six weeks after the procedure it’s very straightforward. We still work full time, so we haven’t needed to have 90 day + cover yet. We have an annual multi trip cover for both of us (Mrs Slaw has no health conditions) and it’s around £90 👍🏻

With the heat of summer in a motorhome (and you have a Bluetti), would a portable 230v fan (decent size) make the MH much cooler? I'm thinking a lack of airflow makes the MH much hotter than it needs to be.

Hi. When it’s hot we have the silverscreens on and the blinds closed to keep the van cool. We don’t use a fan as the Truma heater has a fan only mode which circulates the air around the van.
