GERMANY: Rwanda model as a solution to the migration crisis? This is how it could work!
CDU/CSU leader Friedrich Merz is increasing the pressure on the federal government and issuing an ultimatum to stop irregular migration by Tuesday. Joachim Stamp, the FDP's special representative for migration agreements, is critical of ultimatums in WELT and stresses that all democratic parties must work together to limit migration. He proposes outsourcing asylum procedures for migrants on the EU's eastern border to third countries such as Rwanda under the auspices of the United Nations. Stamp stresses that this third-country solution can only be one component of a comprehensive migration concept.
