It‘s crazy thinking our borders, culture and security need this kind of „additional protection“. Yes, it‘s a far-right ideology, because it‘s built entirely around the xenophobic idea that there are all these EVIL FOREIGN PEOPLE who try to sneak into our countries and destroy our culture. If you go and check the actual NUMBERS (instead of just go with whatever reactionary media is selling you) you‘ll notice very quickly that NONE of the real threats to the regular people are coming from outside. Politicians want you to be angry at foreigners. Because then, they don‘t have to work to fix any of the actual issues.
