Well Brasils Woman are 7 th in the world and the men are 5 th in the world ! They may have 5 WC the Brasilian men but i think the woman have no WC ? Germany booth men & woman are Nr. 1 in the world and have together an impressive title collection ,combined together 6 WC and 11 EC ! USA beat Germany 2:1 yesterday in an unimportant friendly match but booth teams were missing a lot of important players , Germany a bit more players ! Against Norway the german womans team will have a different game , it wont be easy as against the Ivory Coast ! catnipcraze2 actually, the only way to judge a nations actual strength in sports (using the olympics) would be to compare the distribution of medals over the population, and then for a more indepth analysis figure out how much money and effort is invested for the average bronze, silver or gold medal respectively, and then compare the correlation between input and output. at which point all those medals the chinese get turn out to be pretty watered down, and the worth of the silverware the US gets also declines significantly in a direct comparison to the less populous Germany. Anyway, we Germans are happy with being good at stuff we care about, which we tend to be, and having the most medals at the olympics seems less significant than winning a world cup anyway.

Well it is a tournament. Germany gave them full force just like if it were their last game, you show respect towards your opponents by playing your best against them. It's a competitive sport and shouldn't be taken lightly especially in a tournament

goe5 I get where you're coming from and all but this shit was brutal to watch after a certain point. I would never want someone to let me win at anything but it also comes to a point where you gotta stop beating your opponent into the ground. That shit is so demoralizing, and this is only the Ivory Coast girls first game of the tourny. In American football once a team is so far ahead of their opponent they stop doing passing plays and just run the ball in order to run the time down. If you're 5 touchdowns up and you're still throwing the ball we call that "Running up the score" and it's considered poor sportsmanship. After 6 goals to zero I feel like Germany should have just been on defense and tried to keep possession of the ball to run the clock out. But that's just my opinion.

Sara Eddy Though it may seem brutal to not have a mercy rule, I'm glad there isn't one. If it comes down to goal differential, you stand a better chance if you don't go light on a team you're beating. I wouldn't want the US women to be tied in points with another team in our group and fail to move on because they eased up on an opponent.

Thomas Hanel I've been following women's soccer for quite a while and to be honest, sometimes I enjoy it a lot more than men's. I find, that in men's soccer there is just way too much acting, especially when it comes to Brazil. They love to dive and get bullshit calls in their favor. In woman's soccer, if a player falls down, even if they have been fouled, they just get up and keep playing, instead of complaining. I'm watching this World Cup as a neutral and I just wanna see awesome games. My all time favorite woman's soccer player is Louisa Necib from the French team. She is so awesome to watch, not just because she is pretty, but she has so much talent. I also like Alex Morgan from the US, but I have to admit, that Germany as a whole team looks pretty strong. This woman's World cup is very entertaining.
