Maybe the reporter knows that the only future of cars is electric. Not to mention EVs sales are growing in the world, whatever happens where *your* country.
@talhamurs3279Күн бұрын
@didierpuzenat7280 I suggest you look into the statistics, you will realise that they only people buying EVs are company/fleet leased on 3 years contract, through govt backed subsidies. The depreciation value after 24 months is 40-50%. This is why people are avoiding buying a USD60k EV only to find out its worth USD25-30k after 24 months. A lot of manufacturers are rethinking their 2030 goals. Tesla cars are sitting in disused supermarket parking lots due to low demands. Similar case in China but the govt there subsidies manufacturers heavily. Mercedes are rethinking the future of their EQ marquee. Then there ks the issue of EV batteries blowing up and catching fire. EV hild a maximum market share of about 30% by 2035. The future is hybrid and PHEV, and possibly synthetic fuel cars that use conventional engine. So I strongly suggest you study the statistics and come out of your fantasy land before it's too late.
@didierpuzenat7280Күн бұрын
@@talhamurs3279 Sorry but cars only depreciate if you buy them as fashion products. As many people, I keep my cars till they die or till my needs radically change (eg 3 kids and 2 seats at the back) so no depreciation for me. And hybrids and PHEV are not the solution, too little too late. And fuel based on biomass is a scam, just a greenwashing strategy since too many industries promote them, eg aviation with SAF, while in the future even food will be an issue. And sure, EV battery fires 🙄, compared to what ? Petrol cars fires are quite more probable, and it is worse for hybrids, and even worse for PHEV. Anyway, the only way to reach net zero is to switch to EVs, and of course also not to use or even own a car at all eg in cities at least in Europe. In 2025 almost nobody will own a car in most European cities. BTW, the main issue of VW is the competition of EVs, in China and also in Europe. Everybody knows that the ICE is dead, even with magical "synthetic fuel".

EV platforms have eliminated the engineering advantage these brands had. Even cheap EV’s are quiet and accelerate quickly so it’s just packaging. They are disposable commodities like smart phones do you think you will see a classic EV?

My older brother bought a new Audi sedan in 2015. This year at 108,000 miles his transmission failed and had to be replaced. Now he has to add oil every weak. My Honda CRV has 135,000 miles with zero problems and doesn't burn a drop of oil. I think this comparison sums it up pretty darn good.

I drive 2014 VW wagon with the bulletproof non-turbo i5 and 5-speed manual. It was affordable, remains reliable, fun to drive and has very little tech. That was the height of pre-nonsense VW.

This is karma. German automakers were just deceiving public opinion by using political excuses to cover up their poor diesel and EV technologies.

Overpriced vehicles, with tech most people don’t need and few want. There’s a serious disjunction between what the manufacturers want to produce, and what customers actually want.

The quality has dramatically gone down in the last 15 years These cars are very unreliable and most people can't afford there up keep I worked for Volkswagen and what I saw was appalling quality And the company was difficult to work for

I think this is huge opportunity for Germany as a lot of highly skilled labor is entering the employment market again. This is very needed as there is a shortage for these skilled workers. It’s a structural change Germany has to go through anyways. No one needs cars with combustion engines soon. better they do these changes sooner than later. I just hope they give the layed off people support in reentering the employment market.

Low demand for combustion vehicles is mentioned at 3:50. I thought that the demand for EVs was crashing. Any low demand for combustion vehicles is the result of huge increases in prices.

I purchased a 2019 VW Atlas V6 AWD, and it was terrible...it drove like a couch and did not have enough power...The dealer repurchased it during COVID......Saw gas prices tick up and opted for a 2021 VW Jetta....a great car but dealership experience was abmisal....I needed new rear brakes at 27k miles for only the rear brakes, not including the rotors, and the dealer wanted $1200 USD for pads only....GTFOH with that.... I traded the vehicle in for a 24 Nissan Titan....so far Nissan has been solid and I love the truck.... VW thinks they are a luxury brand, and they are not...the dealerships are run down and so far, their service advisors are idiots

What undermined the German car industry? The management boards of automotive companies commission their engineers to design cars that only need to be repaired, not driven, and as it turned out, customers would rather drive than repair, and that would be it.
