The most AUTHENTIC and dear man you could ever hope to meet. Didn't know he spent some years boxing. This is a timeless and delightful interview that explains and recreates so many things.

About 8 years ago I was visiting a friend in Liverpool and he had the local radio on and Gerry Marsden came on and sang a standard - something like The Shadow Of Your Smile or a similar jazz ballad. I was surprised and impressed as to how good he sounded as prior to that I always associated him with a likable rock but less sophisticated style of playing.

It's Holly Johnson who was the lead singer of a group called Frankie goes to Hollywood when they had three UK no.1's in the '80s. I expect two of these hits were Relax and Two Tribes.

It puzzles me why The Seekers never toured the U.S. until 1967. Why didn't they tour with some of these other groups?

For the love of God, please, somebody, interview Gerry about his guitars. There are so many rumors about him sawing off the head of his 12 string Ric and throwing guitars overboard off boats on the way back from New Zealand.

@@buckjohnson1119 Thanks for the reply. I am confused tho. Was he miming with the guitar with the head sawn off?
@buckjohnson11193 жыл бұрын
@@kcuhc84 It was adapted to fit him and the case. I think the last thing that man would do was fake. They don’t come anymore genuine then him. And listening to him on parts one and two, you can really grasp who he was. I saw other interviews with him. They were always enjoyable.
