With you on the campsite food too, quick easy and cheap! Loved that night sky, wow! 🌠🌜🥶❤ beauty of a morning for the walk out too, especially loved the tadpoles!!🐸 smashing video, thank you. Catch you again soon, Ceri and Kat 🌞🏕☕x100

Ceri & Kat, it is great to be able to travel a little further and reach the mountains as that is where my heart is😊 Wild camping, especially in a bivy just has so many positive things attached to it, even the uncomfortable sleeping and cold. Many thanks for watching and commenting👍👍

Hi Gerry, I crashed my overloaded mini van outside Attical all those years ago. Glad to hear peregrines are back in this paet of the Mournes Gerry. Decades ago it was beived that a gunman was hired by pigeon men to kill as many as possible. Not sure about the truth of this but for years there were no peregrines. Brave and nippy up there of an early morning. We have had heavy frosts for a number of days now. Good for you getting going again!
@gerrymcveigh3 жыл бұрын
Tom, it sounds like there is a story there with this overloaded mini van!! I have heard peregrines each time have walked here, have also heard them heading up to Hare's Gap on occasion. I wonder if there is a connection with the pigeon men and Pigeon Rock Mountain? It was a bit nippy alright❄️❄️ and it definitely gets you moving about to warm up😊 The days have been glorious though☀️

Great time out gerry. End to end enjoyed your company and the mountains. Mind you them fields are something else. Empty them of stone and build the walls. Awesome. I have the Hunka XL and you've tempted me to do a bivvy next time out. It's a good bit of kit - nice and light as you mention. Hey, them cold morning eh? Nice to feel the warmth of the day emerge though. Well, good going - love them mountains. Have a cool week. Mark
@gerrymcveigh3 жыл бұрын
Mark, really pleased with the Hunka and have a smaller sleep mat that could fit inside if it was a bit damper, a big improvement on the old army bag that someone gave me many years ago😊 I love being able to stare up at the stars whilst warm and snug, hard to beat if the weather conditions allow it. I also love that we are more in sync with nature when wild camping - whether it is working with daylight and settling down with darkness, no matter the time and that we feel the weather. Take care over there😊

@gerrymcveigh3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Richard. It is great to be back out camping again 😊 Agree that it looks dreadful and at a time of year that will cause real damage to new wildlife, whether it be ground nesting birds or frogs. Can't remember a fire of that size for a long time. It just shows the care required when we visit these places.
